Characterful, flamboyant design, not cookie cutter. A place with soul.

Huge rooms confidently designed with colour and panache. Hugo the owner, in his 80s, is an ex fashion designer and it shows in the aesthetic. This is his home and it feels that way, especially with his 2 lovely dogs befriending guests. Charming staff (not much English, but Hugo speaks fluently), good breakfasts and a delightful small pool. Located across from the beach, on the edge of a very smart residential area. So much nicer than the horrid, high-rise concrete boxes on offer in Punta del Este, a 10 minute drive away.

Incredible place

I took my young family of 5 here for a week and it was a great experience. The food was amazing, the rooms clean and spacious, the location was right across the street from a handful of great surf breaks...Hugo and his staff were very attentive and helpful. We would strongly recommend staying at Hotel La Bluette when traveling to Uruguay!

Un Paradiso!!

If You planning a romantic trip to a little French paradise then you found your perfect spot. We stayed here for 3 nights and we love totally everything about it! Starting from an amazing attention of a staff and hotel’s owner to the balcony view, morning delicious breakfast and the best pizza we tried in years!
This hotel is also situated close to a beach, seriously it’s enough that you cross the street and you can enjoy a wonderful gigantic seashore( with lifeguards).
We wish to come back here soon!!

Hello! Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a nice report on Tripadvisor. We always try to make people who visit us at La Bluette feel like they would at a friends house! The personalized breakfast from 9am to 1 noon follows the same line that people can feel relaxed and at ease! We loved your rating of Filippo's pizza, because at the moment only a month and a half ago we opened, but bringing all the experience, equipment and many of its components from Italy. Chic and cozy

Great experience , the rooms and building are very nicely decorated. People at the hotel very kind and helpful . Everything was perfect , right in front of the beach and the neighborhood great for going walking and jogging.
Best discovery was to find that the hotel has the best pizza restaurant in punta del este within the compound ! named Filippo . Totally recommend this place !

Charming hotel/bed and breakfast

Nice boutique hotel/BB. We had a spacious room with a large balcony, terrace. Beautiful view on the beach and ocean. Unfortunately a rather busy and noisy road between the 20room hotel and the beach. In itself the hotel is a nice yellow building with a large hall, sitting area, but a bit worn out. The large double bed is good. Two arm chairs and a table complete the room. But in the spacious bathroom all taps, also the shower, are dripping leaving an irritating soft noise. It is impossible to have the shower on a continuous same temperature. Flushing the toilet needs a very very strong push. The curtains in the bedroom could not darken the room leaving the room in full day light as from 6 a.m. Though the water from the tap is not drinkable not even a small bottle of water is present upon arrival. There is a small swimming pool on the inside patio, but it was not working due to a defect pump (we were informed). Around the swimming pool the pool beds looked quite worn out.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast, being served, is very good. With ample fruits, fresh orange juice and eggs to your liking. It is more a bed and breakfast than a hotel, as there is no bar service.

Hello! Thanks LoukdeW for taking the time to make such a thorough report of your stay at La Bluette. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us! Yes, as we told you at the time we had problems with a replacement filter pool, because it is imported from Spain and had to bring the spare and that took, especially in the Customs. Luckily we are facing the largest pool in the world, (Atlantic Ocean) that surely you know very well, judging by the beautiful sailboat that appears in your photo!. LoukdeW, again thanks & have a great 2019 !!
