Sunstar resort hotel alanya

Read a few reviews before booking this hotel.
Double doubting my self.
But to be fair on what I paid wasn’t to bad at all.
The staff couldn’t do enough for you and every visitor here.
Come at 1 in the morning so was no food or drinks available past this time.
They kindly offered to order us food from their recommended spot and even brought it to our room. “I paid obviously “
Bit far from Antalya airport though didn’t realise the distance. 2hr 20 minute drive.
Food selection was okay but being here a week gets a bit boring but can also go out and about , not to far of a walk to some nice spots to eat.
Reception offer free transport to some local restaurants.
Went to one the other night called green heaven was lovely and bit pricy for 3 kids and my self and drinks £62.
But didn’t mind as I am on holiday and everything was eaten and well enjoyed.
Only complaint is that ice creams are charged extra which is not great when u have a few kids.
The all inclusive drinks are not great tbh but for the price of my holiday can’t really complain.
If they have had all in ice creams and decent “coke “ Fanta “ and proper alcoholic drinks selection it would be perfect.
The entertainment team made the whole experience worth it for us.
I have four small children and they do there up most to get them involved every single day doing something lovely for them.
Alex and the team “entertainment” are an absolute treasure to this hotel.
There is a spa and wellness lounge here at this hotel had a free 15 minute massage when checked in.
Obviously booked in for full treatment the next day £40 for a full body massage humman bath , scrub , face mask , hair wash.
Was raining here when we come so there is also a pool inside if you wanted a swim.
There’s also games room , hair dresssing, and a shop all in this hotel.
Also pool is really cold maybe because it’s April ? But apart from that if I’m in alanya I would stay here again.
Thanks guys.

Good

We are at the hotel now 6th June, my 70th birthday. I feel that the moaners that go on about the food are just that moaners and obviously like to go to a different country and expect everything to be like home (get a Life). There is a vast choice, albeit not to everyone's taste, but the choice is there none the less. We've never seen such an amazing array of salad items, which is very popular. And everything from cooked items to cold has flavour. OK the hotel itself I would not call 5* but it is clean and kept clean all day long. It has a very large swimming pool and a separate pool with slides , all very clean There are parts that need a little TLC , but overall the staff are friendly and try their best to accommodate your needs.
It's a "5*" hotel at 3* prices and for that you get value

Don’t waste your money not worth

Absolutely terrible experience from start to finish.
The service was awful throughout our entire stay. Very few staff spoke English, making even simple requests difficult and frustrating.
The rooms were not properly cleaned all week. Housekeeping only seemed to make the beds and replace towels, while the rest of the room was left untouched.
The food was by far the worst part of the holiday. It was so poor that we ended up eating out, ordering food, or buying our own groceries most days.
The drinks selection was extremely limited, and there was very little choice available. To make matters worse, there was no ice cream available for children, which was very disappointing for a family hotel.
The pool area was constantly overcrowded, and finding a sunbed was almost impossible.
The hotel advertises its own private beach, but this is misleading. While sunbeds are available, if you want a drink you have to either buy one from the beach bar or walk back to the hotel yourself.
Overall, this hotel did not meet even basic expectations. We would not return and would not recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday.

Stressful Start to Our Holiday, Average Food and Poor Customer Experience

We stayed at Sun Star Resort in May 2026 for 7 nights.
I want to start by saying that this review reflects our personal experience and contains both positive and negative points.
The biggest issue was what happened on arrival. After travelling all day, arriving at the hotel, checking in and accessing our room, we were informed that our reservation had supposedly been changed and that we would be moved to Sun Star Beach Hotel, a sister property. This created several hours of stress, uncertainty and frustration at the very beginning of our holiday.
We spent a significant amount of time speaking with reception and our travel company trying to understand what had happened. In the end, we were required to pay extra in order to remain at the hotel we had originally booked. This was an extremely upsetting way to begin our holiday.
In terms of the hotel itself, there were both positives and negatives.
The room was generally comfortable and the hotel was clean. The pool area was pleasant and there were enough sunbeds available most days.
However, the food was disappointing. While there was a reasonable selection, the menu was very repetitive and often felt like the same meals were being served day after day. By the middle of the holiday we were struggling to find anything different to eat.
The drinks were also below expectations. Most cocktails seemed to be made from pre-mixed ingredients and lacked quality. The alcoholic drinks generally felt cheap and did not resemble what many guests would expect from an all-inclusive resort.
One thing that particularly stood out was the dining experience in the evenings. On more than one occasion, staff started turning lights off and clearing areas before the advertised dinner service had ended, making guests feel rushed and unwelcome. We felt pressured to finish quickly and leave rather than being able to enjoy a relaxed meal.
Communication was another challenge. Several reception staff spoke very limited English, which made resolving issues unnecessarily difficult, especially during the situation surrounding our booking.
That said, I want to recognise the people who genuinely made an effort to improve our stay. The animation team was fantastic, especially with the children. They were friendly, energetic, professional and always took the time to engage with guests. They brought a positive atmosphere to the hotel every day and were one of the highlights of our holiday.
I would also like to thank the gentleman who assisted us with our luggage. He was polite, helpful and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and his kindness stood out during what was otherwise a stressful arrival experience.
Overall, the hotel itself was acceptable, but the customer experience fell below expectations. The arrival issue, repetitive food, poor-quality drinks, rushed dining atmosphere and communication difficulties had a significant impact on our holiday.
I would not describe this as a terrible hotel, but I would not return, and I believe there are better options available in the area for a similar price
