Poolside Bar Gang

So this is not an overall review, that will come soon, this is just a shoutout to the lads on the bar next to main pool, Efe, Ramazan, and Okay (Mustafa).
They remembered my drink from day one, whether I saw them at the poolside or swimup (mostly main pool) and they were generous, each drink was topped to the brim.
They were the best cocktail makers, some of the other staff didn’t do a great job, but I guess they will learn in time.
When I got drinks for the rest of my family, they were also generous, but sometimes my own team couldn’t handle the shots .
Great service from the morning to evening, cannot praise these lads enough. If you see them, tell them JD Honey sent you lol.

Akra Didim stay in May

We stayed at this hotel at the end of May during the UK half term holiday - we were a family of four (2 adults & 2 children, aged 5 and 1).
We had previously stayed at Anda Barut the year before and saw this hotel being built across the bay, so thought we’d give it a try!
We arrived late in the evening (around 1am) and were greeted by the receptionist. Whilst she seemed pleasant enough, I did feel like we weren’t really given much useful information, especially about the booking of the a la cartes (we’d later find out that you had to go to guest relations, or WhatsApp them at 10am each day for securing bookings 2 days in advance). This meant that we were only able to experience the restaurants towards the end of our stay.
Luckily, we were very impressed with the buffet restaurant. There was a lot of choice at breakfast time and the waiting staff were very polite and attentive.
At dinner times, it was very busy, but the staff seemed to mostly cope well and the food was replenished frequently. The seating outside was really impressive and it was lovely to sit there and watch the beautiful sky as the sun was setting. I have to say, this hotel has got some of the comfiest seating!
When we did go to the a la cartes, I felt a little disappointed as these seemed to cater for adults only. They didn’t have a kids menu at all which was a shame, although the staff were happy enough to go and retrieve something from the buffet. I definitely thought the overall experience and setting of the restaurants at Anda were much better for families.
Our hotel room overlooked the pool areas which was a lovely view, especially in the evenings with all the lights and the amazing sunsets. The room was nice and spacious, the bed was comfortable and the mini bar was restocked daily with no issues. There were sliding doors for the wardrobe areas, with a few drawers too. There were shelves above the hanging space which were useful, but quite high up! It would have been preferable to have more drawer space for easier accessibility personally. Not the end of the world, but that’s me just being picky!
The bathroom was nice and modern, and the shower a good pressure and temperature.
Unfortunately we did have a problem with our air con unit a couple of days into our stay, with the water leaking and dripping down onto the floor. We contacted reception who sent maintenance straight away. The man had a quick look at it and then came back again with another man. They didn’t really say much and then just left. I presumed they would be coming back, but they didn’t. I spoke to reception the following day to ask what was going on and requested another room which they organised promptly.
We spent all our days at the pools, as were really pleased with these. We liked the choices on the different levels, which made it feel like it was never too busy. As it was school holidays, you did have to get down early to get a sun bed in a good area, although there were a few left after breakfast time. The pools were clean and staff came round to empty the bins once or twice a day. The pool staff were absolutely brilliant and really made our holiday! It was so nice to have your drinks served to you by people on roller skates. A special mention to Engin who was so friendly and welcoming, and really went out of his way to look after us. He is a credit to your team!
We were impressed with the Livar restaurant for lunch. Again, nice seating areas and really good food choices.
I felt the hotel lacked any grab and go type snack places though. We quite like having a small snack/takeaway food that we can bring back to our sun loungers, but there wasn’t any options. It was also a shame that they had no ice cream freezers by the pools, this was a big hit at Anda for my eldest! There was one down at the beach however.
All in all, we did have a lovely stay and thought the hotel and its grounds were absolutely stunning. The hotel lobby was beautiful and we loved the outdoor area. The staff worked very hard to keep the hotel running at near full capacity, after only being open a few weeks.
Would I stay again? Probably not, only as I felt like it didn’t really cater as well for younger families as Anda did, but I would still recommend it to anyone who make think of going and who have older kids.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for choosing Akra Didim for your family holiday and for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review of your stay.
We are delighted to know that you and your family had an enjoyable holiday overall and particularly appreciated the beautiful surroundings of our resort, the comfort and views of your room, our pool areas, the variety and quality of our buffet, and your lunch experience at Livar Snack Restaurant.
It was especially wonderful to read your kind words about our pool team and Engin. Knowing that his friendly, welcoming and attentive approach made such a positive difference to your holiday means a great deal to us. We will be very pleased to share your appreciation with him and our team.
At the same time, we would like to emphasize that every detail and observation shared by our guests is extremely valuable to us. Your comments regarding the arrival information, à la carte reservation process, dining options for younger children, grab-and-go alternatives and the technical issue you experienced with the air conditioning have all been carefully noted.
As your stay took place in May, during the very first weeks following the opening of Akra Didim, feedback from our guests during this period has played an important role in the continuous development of our services. Since May, we have continued to review and improve many aspects of our operations in line with our guests’ experiences and expectations.
In this regard, we would also like to share that, as one of the service improvements introduced since your stay, dedicated children’s menus are now available in all of our à la carte restaurants. We believe that developments such as this are an important part of creating a more comfortable and enjoyable dining experience for our younger guests and their families.
We also truly appreciate your comments from the perspective of a family travelling with younger children. In fact, the feedback we have received from our guests throughout our first season is already contributing to our plans for the next season. In line with these valuable insights, we are planning several operational refinements and enhancements that will allow Akra Didim to offer an even more family-focused experience, particularly for families travelling with younger children.
For this reason, while we completely respect your current thoughts about returning, we would be especially delighted if you would consider giving Akra Didim another opportunity in the future. We would love for you and your family to experience how the resort continues to evolve and to discover the improvements made since your first visit.
Thank you once again for your detailed feedback, your recommendation, and for being among our guests during our very first season. Your observations are an important part of our journey, and we sincerely hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you and your family back to Akra Didim for an even more enjoyable experience.

Amazing vacations in Akra Didim

An absolutely amazing hotel!
Every single detail and corner of this hotel has been incredibly well thought out. The design is beautiful, and the rooms — including the bathrooms — are very spacious and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need.
The food is superb! There is an amazing variety of dishes, with something to suit every taste. We also really appreciated how well the hotel is zoned. There is a beach area that is perfect for families with children, as well as an exclusive 16+ adults-only area, which creates a wonderful balance for different types of guests.
I would also especially like to highlight the evening entertainment. The performance by Ezgi Alas was absolutely magnificent and truly made the evening special!
The staff are exceptionally polite, welcoming, and speak excellent English. On our first day, we were greeted by Doga at reception, who speaks excellent English and immediately made us feel at home.
The hotel spa is another highlight — we absolutely loved it! A special thank you to Jira, our massage therapist. She was incredibly attentive and professional, and the massage was wonderful.
We highly recommend Akra Didim and would like to thank the entire team for such a wonderful experience. We wish the hotel continued success, prosperity, and many happy guests!

A little misleading

We are currently staying at the Akra didim,so thought I would give an honest review for fellow travelers. Like all places, there are positives and negatives. The hotel itself is beautiful interior, the rooms are lovely and spacious, the food so far has been good and the drinks have been lovely too.
However there are some issues that would have made me think twice about booking had I known. The beaches have not been well thought out at all, the adults only beach is sand with four poster beds and it’s own private beach bar with bed service, whilst the family beach is a stone beach, whilst I personally don’t mind a stone beach but it’s not really did not enjoyable for kids. there is never a single soul on there and looks deserted. Most children like to play in the sand as it is soft and they like to play. Our children are early teens so it put us in that awkward area where they are no disturbance but are still not eligible to be there which is annoying. The same thing is said about the adult only pool area, the four poster beds and padded loungers and in pool loungers are only in the adults only section, which is really lovely but if you have children under 16 you will not be allowed to enter, which for me was really annoying as on the Akra social media it portrays it as part of the stay, but if you have a family I’m afraid it is not. So basically if you have kids your not allowed the comfy luxury beds that you paid for, it’s a little misleading and disappointing. I say this because for me I wouldn’t have booked if I had known this. The pools don’t have any music or atmosphere during the day, they need to up there game on that one. I would like to add that this hotel is not really accessible if you are disabled as it is over several levels.
The staff have all been really lovely and attentive and cannot do enough for you. This hotel is new and I think they just need to pay attention and read the room more, customer is always right.
