Clean room & Friendly staff

Stay here at the girls only dormitory, my first bunk experience! The bed was clean, the room and the bathroom is clean.still hear a few noise during the night but that's okay.the curtain on each bed is super good, make my bed super dark. Thank You!

Nice hostel close to train station but not the sights

Stayed at Journey Hostel for one night before leaving to return to Taipei.
Overall, it's a nice hostel. Clean, nice common area and good size kitchen for guests (with storage).
Location is 5 minute walk to the train station but to the other sites in Tainan, location isn't great, especially w/o motorbike. Walking to anywhere (even the food the hostel recommended) was 15-20 minutes. Buses are available but they don't run regularly and there is no metro. So, depending what you want to see/do in Tainan, this location might not work out. But, bikes are available for guests to use if they wish.
The female dorm is very tight, especially when there are more than two people (in the four-bed). Not much luggage storage and you are all on top of one another. But there is a little makeup table in the room that is very nice.
AC is weak so it needs to run for awhile in the rooms, and you don't feel it much in the beds. So rooms can warm up quickly. There is also a lot of street noise (minus some overnight hours) so bring earplugs. Bathroom has nice showers and features.
Hostel staff speaks English well and are very nice but were not very helpful in restaurant recommendations (apparently nothing is close to the hostel for food options). I did not use the Wifi but it's available.
For one night, this was a solid fine, but if you're tight on time in Tainan and don't have a motorbike, I would recommend something more centrally located.

Clean and comfortable . Helpful staff. It has a big common area to relax and a spacious pantry
