Me and my boyfriend booked a night here for our anniversary. We were rudely greeted by the manager (or man who runs the place) who told us our room (2 hours after check in time) wasn’t ready and we would have to “sit and wait”. No one helped with bags etc or anything.
Having checked into our “premium pool room” we were greeted with the following. A used toilet roll, sheets that don’t fit the bed, dirty sunbeds, smashed windows, a dirty shower and sink area, stained bedding, a broken bin, a green pool, dirty furniture (I couldn’t sit anywhere clean), a dirty kettle and this “communal kitchen space”. The place felt old and dirty and to add is in the middle of NO WHERE. You cannot get a taxi to the villa & instead have to walk 1/2 a mile up a steep hill to get anywhere. Honestly, the reviews aren’t lying & I wish I had read them.
To make matters worse, even with the disgusting bedroom we were given the man simply said “it’s the weather, get on with it” and refused to offer any refund. He is SO RUDE!!!

Our stay at The Spot Hotel was one of the worst we’ve ever had.
When we asked for insect spray, the owner, Mr. Frederic, rudely said:
“This is not a five-star hotel; you’re being too demanding.”
The room was dirty — stained sheets, weak shower pressure, an old A/C that barely worked, and a filthy minibar.
There was no “Do Not Disturb” sign, and while we were on the balcony, staff suddenly appeared inside our room without permission.
The pool and jacuzzi were dirty, and the entrance lights were broken.
When we tried to rent a motorbike, the owner demanded to keep our passports as a deposit, which is illegal in Thailand.
After we refused and offered cash, he shouted,
“My rules are my rules. I don’t want customers like you!”
Later, he refused to help us and threatened to call the police after we declined to pay 600 THB for a small menstrual stain on the bedsheet, saying,
“Until they arrive, we know what to do with you.”
At checkout, staff knocked on our door before noon, pointing at their watches, and filmed us without consent.
From start to finish it was an awful, intimidating, and unprofessional stay.

The view from our villa was absolutely spectacular, and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. Everything was spotless, and the bed was very comfortable. The room stayed nice and cool, which was perfect after a hot day out exploring. I also learned that the staff will happily cook meals for you if you’d prefer to dine in rather than venture out—such a thoughtful touch!
For convenience, scooters are available to rent on-site for 300 baht a day. They’re nothing fancy, but they get you where you need to go without hassle.
That said, a few issues kept me from giving a full 5-star rating. The pillows were a bit lumpy, the blinds in the bathroom were broken (so I couldn’t let in sunlight or enjoy the incredible view from the tub), and the tub itself wasn’t secured properly—it wobbled quite a bit, and the slow spout meant it took forever to fill.
Overall, despite these minor inconveniences, this was still a lovely place to stay with great views, kind staff, and a peaceful atmosphere.

Beware. Didn’t get a chance to stay there BUT….
These people are crooks. I booked a room there at this hotel way in advance of my trip to Thailand (7 months). I chose Pay at the Property/ Pay later, and they charged my credit card two weeks later. When I brought this error THEY made to their attention I was met with slow responses and no satisfaction. I was told by Expedia customer service that a clerk there made the mistake. I canceled the booking because of this and they did not give me a full refund. They charged me for the credit card swiping fee which would have never occurred if their employee did not run my card prematurely. When I brought the matter to Expedia, they confirmed that it was a Pay Later booking. The experience with this hotel was subpar. Very crooked, very unprofessional and down right deplorable. Integrity is not their strong point.

Do not stay here
We booked villa the spot after seeing it on a hotel website we thought it looked stunning but our stay was far from. Ultimately our stay here ruined our stay in Koh Samui when people say it’s hard to get to believe us it is hard to get to. We had to walk in the pitch black with all our luggage, no phone service because the taxi wouldn’t drop up to the villa it was that hard to get to. When we were greeted, it wasn’t a warm welcome, the whole villa felt quite bizarre as the owner lives here it feels like you are invading their home and living space. Our room was stunning though we did upgrade at an additional cost. The minibar was always stocked however it is all at cost including the water. The pictures online were misleading as the villa was dirty and the pool looked like it was in need of a good clean. As you are secluded in the villa you would expect the facilities to be of a high standard. It is rare that a taxi will come to the villa so you often have to hike up the steep hills and back as well as this due to the location we spent a lot more on taxis compared to other locations we stayed at on our travels. To conclude if you want to actually experience Koh Samui I would strongly advise booking elsewhere do not fall for the misleading pictures and reviews like we did !
