Good clean hotel value for money

A thai style hotel, big room with air con, cable t.v with Thai channels only, hot water shower, has a basic restaurant, off street parking, near central shopping mall and Surat Thani center and close to the airport ideal if you need some where to stay over night of you have an early flight

budget accommodation

don't come expecting 5 star and you won't be disappointed. this is a low cost, clean, comfortable hotel on the outskirts of a busy city. my room was dated, but had a clean comfortable bed and a bathroom with warm water in the shower. for an extra 50 baht i received a western-style breakfast which quelled my hunger in the morning and got my day started off right. the air conditioning was a little under-powered and the wifi a little slow, but for a budget hotel, everything was fine.
had to catch a hop-on hop-off (rod song tao) taxi to get to town where the action was - markets, river, food!, but that was okay.
hotel is fine, just on the outskirts of town. clean, comfortable and cheap.

Ok for one night only - If you don't mind roaches!

I'm glad it was only a one night stopover! Where to start?!
Crabby room with inadequate locks on the door, bathroom had two of the biggest cockroaches I have ever seen, was offered 'Massages' by the receptionists before I had my room key. Generally rank in its appearance and quite a way out of town....
The only good thing was the food in the restaurant at night which was really quite good!

budget, no frills, pleasant stay

good beds, int TV channels, free parking, free wifi, resonable breakfast included, location near motorway, no frills, very convenient
it's possible to have some cold drinks from self service fridge in the lobby

Pretty basic, and pretty far out of town

One night was more than enough at the SR Hotel. The rooms were very basic, location was pretty far out of Surat Thani central, and the breaky restaurant was probably best missed (very cold fried eggs and frankfurters).
