3 night stay near to the airport to chill after 3 weeks traveling
Ok so we can only write this review from our point of view , being one of finding a place to reflect on 3 weeks of traveling and hoping for a clean, welcoming and relaxing choice of hotel with great food close to the airport ready for our long haul home.
81k88 delivered a 10/10 in all above areas. Lovely owners and staff, superb room, excellent food and the best sunrise start to our days we've ever witnessed.
The pool , beach and excursion issues are well documented in previous reviews but didn't land in our scope for our last 3 days so it would be unfair to comment
So if you want a stress free end to your holiday (or perhaps beginning) just a short taxi ride from the airport….
- wake and enjoy the sunrise around 6am.
- relax on the balcony with a sachet coffee listening to the wildlife until breakfast time.
- enjoy a great tasty breakfast
- get a beach bag ready and head down a small hill (3/4 minutes) to a hard standing area owned by a neighbouring (supalai) hotel with beach beds and a large sheltered bar with tables over looking the sea and distant karsts
- return for tasty lunch and return to the beach beds until the evening
- return to 81k88 for a free 7 eleven taxi ride for a balcony wine
- eat beautiful food at 81k88 small table set up
… we found this place ideal.
On reflection we had scratched all our thailand itches by the time we landed here so we were happy that 81k88 had everything we needed for a little 3 day final r and r.

nice stopover but hotel overrates and isolates

A magical stay
For a dream stay in love, one in a quiet and quiet place
The room with its large bay window overlooking the sea allowed us to witness the sunrise, a breathtaking spectacle
Very comfortable king size bed, large shower and very well equipped room
The Pension restaurant where we dined every night is excellent and we were able to taste many specialties
Not to mention the extreme kindness and professionalism of our guests, who did everything, for us to spend an idyllic 4 day stay in this very beautiful place
In short, if we were to return to Phuket, we would not hesitate for a second to return to the 8IK88 resort

Ripped Off
Do not stay in this hotel. And if you do certainly do not book any excursions or transportation with the management. I agreed and paid TB 9,000 for a long tail boat trip around the bay. I say many offers of trips for about TBaht 1,600 per person, including canoeing and lunch. As there were four of us I decided to pay the premium for a private trip and was promised something special. What we got was the same trip as every other tourist, but without the lunch. To add insult to injury the hotel added TBaht 2,000 to my bill at checkout for the ten minute canoe trip that we did not request but assumed was part of our tour. A complete rip off.
I had booked a transfer from the airport on arrival. This did not turn up.
I booked a room with a verandah. We were given an upstairs room with a net outside a sliding door. Neither safe nor appropriate for a couple in their 60's.
We were transferred to a downstairs room the following day. It had a sunken bath but they wanted an additional TBaht 1,000 to fill it!!
The only thing going for this hotel is the view. It is exceptional and memorable.
The hotel itself is run down and neglected. Poor door locks. Insufficient air conditioning. The beach could be nice but it is completely neglected. Laziness on the part of the management.
My recommendation - visit for a drink and soak up the views but do not consider staying.

We provided detailed information about both shared and private boat options before you booked. The shared program you mentioned at 1,600 THB per person includes lunch and canoeing but operates with 30-100 people, depending on the tour operator. As per your request for a private trip, we offered various boat options, and you selected a private boat at the agreed price of 9,000 THB for the full-day excursion for group of 4 by the boat license size of 12 peoples.
The itinerary was planned based on your requests, including visiting popular tourist destinations like James Bond Island and Panyee Island. To provide a unique experience, we also arranged a visit to a quieter, hidden beach for swimming and relaxation where your group spend timing to enjoy at that place as well. However, as these are well-known attractions eg. Jamebond, complete exclusivity at tourist spots is not guaranteed.
Regarding canoeing, we initially discussed that it was not included in your program as you mentioned your group may not be comfortable with it. However, on the actual trip, your group decided to experience canoeing at Hong Island. Since it was not pre-arranged, the site was fully booked, so our team found an alternative at Koh Talu. The canoe operator billed the hotel since payment was not made on-site, and we added the cost to your bill accordingly.
Regarding lunch, we clarified that we do not cook food on the boat but can arrange fresh meals at the local village. This ensures food safety rather than carrying pre-packed meals throughout the trip or we also allow you to bring own food if required.
2. Airport Transfer
We confirmed your airport pickup and provided you with our contact details. On the day of arrival, our driver was at the airport waiting for you. However, we received a message from you stating that you had already taken another taxi without making a call to locate our driver. Our driver returned to the hotel just five minutes after you arrived.
3. Room Assignment
You booked a Sea View Room, and we assigned the room according to your booking. We are aware of your request of balcony and outdoor seating, so we arranged a room change for you the next day. We also provided an extra chair to accommodate your group from other room to join your balcony.
Additionally, your sister booked an airport transfer with us later that night, which went smoothly. During this time, we reconfirmed the arrangements and ensured everything was as expected.
4. Sunken Bath Usage
The room you were moved to includes a large sunken bath, designed for multiple guests to relax together. Filling it with the standard tap takes 3-4 hours, which is why we offer an option to fill it with a water truck in just 5-10 minutes, including a flower setup. This service comes at an additional cost, as the water is not reused for hygiene reasons.
