I can't thank the owner enough for helping me after having an accident offsite and breaking my kneecap.He took me to the hospital and picked me up later, then took us and our bags to the the bus. Thanks.

What a hidden gem.
Booked this last minute.
Pleasantly surprised as there were mixed reviews.
I suspect people looking for all the creature comforts from home.
I was given my own bungalow.
Big room and huge bathroom.
AC worked great, I had not water anytime I needed it.
Has a rustic/bohemian vibe which I loved.
Tucked away so it’s quiet but also super close to the market and restaurants.
Breakfast in the more had multiple options.
By far my favourite stop on my 21 day trip around Asia.
Highly recommend this place.

Baantawan Guesthouse in Pai is a fantastic place to stay! The cozy rooms are clean, comfortable, and have a great homely feel. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with any questions or requests. The location is perfect—quiet, peaceful, and close to the heart of Pai, making it easy to explore the town. I had a relaxing and memorable stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Pai!

Wonderfull location. Mattress are old. Breakfast very, very simple, always the same.

Very basic rooms. Misrepresented on Google maps and in hotel booking sites.
Certainly not 3*, possibly not even 1*
Would possibly have been reasonable value at 1/3 the price.
No safe in room. No mention at reception. When I asked, I was told he would put things in his room but there is no safe!
Little space to hang things. Only one hanger.
Pillows are as hard as bricks.
Shower is weak and luke warm. Sink tap drips constantly and sink leaks.
Noisy fairground over the other side of the river, so loud that the room and fixtures actually vibrate.. yet the hotel failed to inform us about this when we made the booking!
Can hear and smell everything from outside as zero insulation.
Breakfast stated to start a 7, only tea coffee and juice available.
Breakfast day 2 was off the menu and reasonable.
Breakfast day 3 was chaos. No cups, no eggs, no fruit, no staff.
The whole place is mismanaged and in need of maintenance and repair
