Charming hostel with a serene ambiance

The hostel is charming, featuring traditional wooden Thai houses and a serene ambiance. It’s conveniently located just a 9-minute walk from the renowned Wat Umong temple and only a 15-minute drive from the airport. As a light sleeper, I was pleasantly surprised by how peaceful it was at night, allowing me to enjoy a restful sleep.
The staff doesn't speak English, so it's helpful to have Google Translate ready on your phone. They initially forgot to provide towels in the private room I booked, but this was quickly resolved.

The booking with Trip.com was easy and straight forward. We booked bunk beds in a private room for 2 person but was told the room wss occupied and not available. We were offered a 12 bunker bed mixed dormitory instead.
The hostel is located outside the old Chiang Mai town, about 15mins walk to Chiang Mai University. It is a nice quiet hostel but because it is getting warm thus it is unavoidable to have mosquitoes. The place is clean with a nice dining space with a microwave,fridge, hot water and washing basin. The hostel provides coffee and tea. They also have white bread jam and butter in the morning for us. The only set back was that there's a moldy smell for our bunker room. We believed that the place had not been used for awhile and the place had been surrounded with trees. There's an laundromat nearby.

The check in was smooth. The dorm was spacious. Shared toilet and shower were kept clean. A simple breakfast was included. I loved chilling at the corridor. The staff was very kind.
The hostel is co-located with a meditation and wellness centre in a large green setting. It is very close to the famous Wat Umong and Chiang Mai University (vibrant student scenes nearby).
Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Insight Hostel.
