Just perfect!
Great location! Nice walk to the centre of Paramaribo through this wonderful, old trees lane (Mahonie trees). Everything in the apartment makes your stay just comfortable. We had one unit at the top floor, with view at the garden. It is safe and cool.
Donovan is a nice host and helps you where ever he can. Restaurant around the corner "Buitengewoon" for your dinner. We made breakfast in the apartment, but it is also possible to make easy dishes. As soon as we go back to Paramaribo, we sure will be back at Boom apartments again! Thanks!

To the owner of this apartment: please consider hiring a different care taker!
We arrived in Parbo after a long bus journey and was looking forward to a good stay. First impression was excellent - nice quiet street with amazing tall trees hundreds years old, the building looked modern.
However we were not able to raise the attention of the staff, there was a note on the door saying we should call a number - but how do we do that if we don;t have cell or wifi connections in a new country foreign to us, AND there were no public phones? Luckily some friendly neighbors helped us to call the care taker.
When he first arrived, he was muttering about why wasn't he informed of our arrival (I put in booking notes our arrival time).
After payment, I asked, if we may store our luggage at the apartment, on the day of our departure (3 days time), because we had a late night flight. Promptly the caretaker just said NO. I pointed it out to him that most hotels offer this help to their guests, and although this is classed as an apartment, a little help like this would go a long way in helping guests.
In any case he reluctantly agreed we can store the bags until about 5pm (flight was midnight).
Then the next day he was suggesting if we want to pay for an extra night so he can keep the bags for us until 10pm...
Anyways, the rooms are actually comfy and well appointed. The location can't be better! The pub nearby was 1st rate. The other staff were friendly. Shame about the caretaker!

Great apartment in beautiful sandstreet
We stayed two times during our holiday in boom apartments in de Nassylaan 133. A beautiful sandstreet with big mahonietrees in the center of Paramaribo. Spaceful room with airco, a fan and a balcony at the front with a nice view. Good bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen.

If you are looking for a no frills quiet place to stay, Boom Apartments would be a great choice.

Uitstekende plek om te verblijven
Het Boom appartementencomplex (2 verdiepingen) bestaat uit ongeveer 10 appartementen en ligt in een rustige, met hoge oude bomen omgeven straat op circa 10 minuten lopen van het centrum van Paramaribo. De straat is een doodlopende zandweg, dus er is weinig verkeer. Soms ondervind je wat lawaai van de vrachtwagens van de even verderop gelegen groothandel, maar verder is het er rustig, geen druk stadsverkeer. Vlakbij is een bar waar je kleine maaltijden kan krijgen. De dichtstbijzijnde levensmiddelenwinkel is ongeveer 7 min lopen. ATM op 10min. In de straat is vlakbij een goed (maar voor Surinaamse begrippen enigszins prijzig) fusion restaurant, waar je sfeervol kan eten op de binnenplaats. Er is geen mogelijkheid om te ontbijten in het complex.
Het appartement is naar behoren ingericht en beschikt over een aparte douche met wc en wastafel. Er is ook een TV. Verder is een kitchenette met 2 kookplaten en voldoende keukenuitrusting. Er is een koelkast, dat is erg fijn om drankjes en zo koud te houden. Het tweepersoonsbed heeft een klamboe, dus die hoef je niet zelf mee te nemen (spaart weer ruimte in je koffer). Het bed is goed. Airco is aanwezig en functioneert prima.
Er is geen permanente receptie aanwezig, maar de vriendelijke host is wel altijd bereikbaar via telefoon of whatsapp in geval van vragen of problemen.
Zoals bij bijna alle huizen in Parimaribo wordt ook dit complex ‘bewaakt’ door twee hondjes. Deze dieren kunnen af en toe even blaffen als er iemand langsloopt, maar dat valt meestal erg mee. (Ze lopen niet los maar in een omheinde kennel). In de tuin zijn ook twee grote schildpadden.
Het appartement is netjes schoon.
