Wonderful Experience

Our stay at Hotel Gletschergarten in Grindelwald, Switzerland for our 25th wedding anniversary was wonderful! My wife commented multiple times on the cleanliness of the floors, the staff was friendly, the breakfast was excellent, and the view of the mountains from our room was breathtaking. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Comfortable hotel and amazing balconies and views.

It’s a very comfortable hotel in a fantastic location and wonderful balconies. Our room had a great view of the glacier and the waterfalls coming off it. The meals were very good. The owner’s sons own the hotel next door and we did a fine dining meal with 17 courses and it was great. It’s a short walk to the Grindelwald First lift and the bus to the Terminal Station (the other lifts) stopped 15 meters from the hotel. It’s not fancy but solid. The sign on the wall says”Typically Swiss” and that is correct. Grindelwald is one of the best places we have visited anywhere.

Super hosts!!

We booked for a two night stay for 29th July, only to find when we arrived that I had made an error with the booking and had booked for 29th August!!
Grindelwald is a very popular resort and we were very worried about accommodation. However, it was not a problem for Gletschergarten, who immediately found us a room albeit their basic room, which was adequate for our needs.
The following day we were offered another room which was comfortable and spacious. Both rooms and all of the hotel were very clean and well presented.
Our stay was excellent! Breakfast was extensive and the set evening meal was of a very high standard. Pre-dinner drinks on the terrace looking up towards the Eiger.
Gabriela & Gerard were excellent hosts and the receptionist (Edith?) was a great help with local knowledge.
All in all a wonderful stay in an excellent hotel!!

Delightful and lovely hotel

Beautiful hotel room with lovely deck and breathtaking mountain views. Friendly and knowledgeable owners with great suggestions for hikes and exploring. Delicious and generous breakfast spread. Clean and comfortable rooms. Truly delightful in every way. And grateful for laundry machines in basement.

Lovely rooms, lovely location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Gletschergarten. The rooms were spacious and clean. Our balcony was the perfect place to unwind after a long day of seeing the sights. The proprietors were very helpful in providing directions and recommendations, and there is a bus stop close to the hotel. Great place in gorgeous Grindelwald!
