Hoor Ivo, Grotto Pergola

The accommodation is okay for sleeping during your trip. But the price is too high for one room only.
The room has no cupboards and desk . No pillows to choose. The place is situated next to a train line!
The host is friendly and cooks for you if needed.
Price doesn’t justify the quality!

The hotel manager was not honest

We stayed 2 nights at Grotto Pergola, the rooms were ok but the drinks, coffee and the food too expensive, they do not put prices in the menu, so at the end when you finish eating and pay the bill you will get a huge surprise , you will pay 2 times more than any nearby restaurant. The rooms are over rated,, very expensive for what you get, in summer no air conditioning, so hot to sleep. The breakfast is poor.

Church bell rings every half'n hour!! PRICES ARE TOO HIGH for the quality you'll get. !

We (Swiss) were there in October 2020, for one night. The rooms are nice and in very good shape. In the evening we did have dinner there, 2 little starters and main plates (Risotto), with a little red wine bottle. Meals are good, really, but in the whole area they do the same. The breakfast was ok, but no local products....everything from the village store. The lady is very friendly. The guy talked too much. The price for the dinner and drinks was the highest we paid during our stay in whole Ticino. Sorry, we will never come back there.

A fine stop to Italy

A small detour from the highway, passing through the old quiet beautiful and remote town. You can park in front of the restaurant. A large terrace but also tables inside. There is a set menu, starting w a toast with goatcheese w figs, and risotto w cherish and ossabuco. Very nice! Price menu, mainly due to the wine was higher than the room price. We got the largest room that could fit 4-6 people. A large seperate bathroom where shower missed pressure. All super clean however a bit outdated although the room itself looked renovated/redecorated. Breakfast is no breakfast to Dutch- just slices of sweet bread w jam and some pre-packed cookies. And coffee/tea. No eggs/bread/etc.
The owner is very nice! Overall perfect location for a stop to Italy but ask the price of the wine suggested.

Beautiful setting, great place to stay

We stayed in this lovely place on our way back from Italy, for one night but would have happily stayed longer, if time allowed. The place is a little hard to find but so worth it. It is set in a beautiful mountainside location, with pretty alpine houses and a church in the vicinity. The B&B is well equipped with it's own trattoria on site, a very pretty garden and really well thought out rooms. The lady who runs it is very welcoming and the home made food on offer is terrific and very tasty. Give the place a try if you are in the area!
