Masterpiece Cordon Bleu for large group

We were at the Stalden for a meeting. Preparing Cordon Bleu for over 50 people and serving it to everyone warm and time perfect is not easy. But the Stalden crew managed to do it confidently. The food was delicious, the service attentive and friendly. Always happy!

Very friendly service

We were at Stalden for lunch on December 5th, 2023. We ate 2 x Beef Stroganoff (small) "à la carte" and had 2 salads as a starter.
We drank an open red wine La Jouvence 2019 (6.60 /dl)
The wine was very good and went wonderfully with the meal.
The service is very friendly and attentive.
We will come again.

Excellent Choice in the Hills West of Zurich

On the advice of my daughter, who lives nearby, I spent two nights in late June 2022 at the Hotel Stalden. Her husband’s father stays there frequently. What an excellent choice! What Stalden may lack in old world charm, it more than makes up for in contemporary Gemuetlichkeit and Gastfreundlichkeit. Proprietors Frau and Herr Kuster are personable and very helpful, the staff attentive and friendly. Rooms very clean, comfortable, with all the appeal of Swiss engineering and attention to detail. Dinner menu somewhat limited, no chicken or pork during my stay—what’s more comforting than a simple Schweineschnitzel?— but nicely done. Wine and beer have some excellent local selections as well the more familiar choices. Dinner and afternoon drinks are served in both the inside dining room and a lovely, sheltered garden terrace immediately outside the reception area. Service is efficient and very friendly and obliging. Not the right place to stay for touring Zurich, I’d say, but great for a brief stay just a short distance from airport, downtown, or on way to and from lake country. I used it to recover from jet lag after a tiring flight from the US and to ease the transition into my daughter’s lively household with two charming, energetic granddaughters and a welcoming husband who loves his beer! Very highly recommended..

Calm, clean and good food

We spent one night at the hotel, with our room on the 2nd floor of the newer building. The village is calm, the room clean & modern with all we needed, nice balcony overlooking a garden.
We ate a the restaurant and the meal was very good, breakfast as well. Friendly & efficient service.
Our dog was welcomed with a bowl of water both time we went to the restaurant, not always necessary, but proving that he was welcome and definitely a nice gesture. (So dogs are allowed at hotel & restaurant)
Overall much better than expected!

Great place to stay & eat

This place is in the hills outside of Zurich. The hotel was quiet and the scenery was quite spectacular with the mountains and rolling pastures. Let me first start of by saying that the bathroom was fantastic! I like a workable easy to use shower and this was it! The rest of the room was plain/simple and very comfortable. The hotel restaurant was located directly across the street and served delicious but somewhat pricey food but then again this is Switzerland where things do cost a bit more. Just a suggestion for the management if you guests are staring at you putting on their jackets like they are getting ready to leave it means they ARE! We sat in the restaurant for nearly 30 minutes trying to get somebody's attention so we could leave! Apart from that everything was excellent!
