An incredible site, avant-garde architecture, large and comfortable rooms, common areas, and a pedestrian street that it opens onto during the day. A unique experience. Although it may seem a bit far from the center, don't be alarmed, there is a train station 10 minutes away and you can also get there by bus and tram.
Basel is a city worth visiting and I plan to return and stay here again

I recommend for women alone
I stayed here in June 2026 and had a good surprise! Hostel with good structure and modern. It is very wide in all areas which gives more sense of privacy since we do not have to get choked on top of each other as in other hostels.
The check-in and check-out is automatic and you do it yourself... Practice that is becoming common in the outside world and because I have already done in other countries, I found it calm. A large group of elderly people arrived and the receptionist (who is in the breakfast space) went to help. There's a number you can call and it works 24 hours to help you. I loved finding my Basel card for free city transportation. There are several bus or tram stops near the hostel, which makes the stay more convenient. It has restaurants and markets, I recommend Coop that has various products and ready meals with cheap prices.
I'm a woman, I traveled here alone and felt super safe. The hallway and room only access with your card key. Even next to the highway I did not hear any annoying noise inside the room. The room was spacious and even the beds having no curtains, there is like a base that covers 30% of the bed and some privacy. If they put a curtain in the future it will be perfect. There is a mirror in the bedroom and the shape of the beds make it more comfortable by not being in front of each other. They give sheets and towels without charging for it and were clean and new products!!!
Negative points of the room: There was no AC and only a small fan that doesn't get close to the high bed... so in the summer it's hard to be in the room. There's only 1 outlet in the whole room... they left 1 outlet extension, but it's not enough given 4 beds, maybe more extensions and larger. In the bed there is only 1 USB input but my charger was not USB.
There is no large closet to fit the suitcase. The closet has shelves, another guest took off the shelves and packed the suitcase, could be an option! Then you can lock up with your lock.
It has area to sit and work, which can be in the area of the cafe or has the space on the 2nd floor that is for it, with table, fridge in which you can store your things, hot water, games, books, etc. The wifi worked perfectly and I managed to work and make video call!!
The bathroom was spacious and clean, had soap and shampoo, hair dryer and other things to share... hot and strong water, but also option to regulate the temperature.
The mancha coffee is simple because it is a hostel, but honestly, good and all fresh and tasty. I've stayed in other hotels around the world outside that were much more expensive and didn't offer coffee and if they offered it was only industrialized food. So, yes, I liked their mancha coffee, hot and fresh bread, delicious hommus, I had the right to a cappuccino, tea, juice, yogurt, fruits, vegetables etc.
I'd come back more often if I came back to Basel alone. Friendly and polite staff.

Really trendy hostel with everything you need. Design is amazing and the quirky beds are designed to limit disturbing others with your night light. Beds were comfortable.
Cleaner than some hotels I’ve stayed.
Staff were wonderful and helpful, they have everything you need if you run out or forget chargers etc! They have waterproof bags if you fancy a swim in the Rhein!
Showers were clean with a hairdryer provided.
Bus stop right outside, train and tram station just a few mins walk.

good place to stay for a quick trip
Very quiet place! Room was clean. Interesting design.
The breakfast was slightly disappointing. Each morning on the small table were small portions of vegetables, small jar of hummus etc. Of course I saw extras brought, but again, very small jars for many people to share. I would consider those quantities of food for maybe 3 adults... The tables were small and self service when there are like 10-12 people was quite inconvenient.
Service very lovely and helpful. Location is big advantage od this hostel.
