A Good Old Swedish "Vandrarhem" (B&B)

If you are in for something different, then skip the hotels in this region and go for Backåkra. This B&B is situated in and old school on the southern coast just a few miles from the wonderful town of Ystad on Österlen. The B&B is thus in the countryside, but what countryside it is! When you're there, walk across the street and take the narrow path up the hill to say hello to the cows. Continue on the slope down towards the coastline. At the camping place take right and get back to the main street, eventually.
The rooms are very basic, some large, some really small. No toilets in the rooms, they are all in the corridors. But who cares? This is like living in a commune in the '70s. Just fantastic!

Don't go here!!

Location ok, beds good. Upon booking praised, the host Per their breakfast which meant we ordered it. Unfortunately, this was a mistake.
When Per asked if everything was all right, I informed him that the breakfast did not correspond to what he said, in many places I have stayed but never seen such thin slices of melon, the eggs peeled, shredded and divided into six parts, this gave a very stingy impression, admittedly homemade breakfast bread but it was only of value with this breakfast. Likewise, it was dirty garden furniture. Per informed me that I could of course have found cushions, there was no information about where these were.
It all ended with Per telling us that we were not welcome to stay there again, which of course we will never do again.
Will of course not recommend this place to anyone. Because never dare to comment on anything at the hostel because then you are not wanted here!

Nice and simple

We only stayed here one night during our road trip trough Sweden, yet the impression was overall good. The structure has the simplicity that you would expect from a hostel, with basic facilities. The atmosphere is really quiet, the rooms clean and big enough, the common hall quiet and large. We had a nice walk in the surroundings (beautiful Osterlen hills) and could enjoy the evening in the yard. We found the staff very kind, and they were ready to welcome us even if we arrived a little over time. You of curse have not to expect too much, I repeat - this is a hostel! I would recommend it.

Vackert, hemtrevligt och välkomnande!

Hemtrevligt och personligt, med gott om fina utrymmen att både laga sin mat på och hitta sin egen plats att njuta av middag eller en kaffestund på. Vare sig man vill sitta några stycken vid syrenbuskarna eller sitta i ett större sällskap vid samma långbord. Det var generöst med utrymme och bjöds på många trevliga platser. Värdarna Karen och Ronny var tillgängliga och fick oss att känna oss välkomna. Backåkra blev ett hem när vi var hemifrån, och jag unnar alla en vistelse där. Vandrarhemmet ligger precis vid kanten av vackra Backåkra naturreservat.

Mysigt, bra kök och fin trädgård

Mysigt vandrarhem med fin innergård / trädgård man kan sitta och äta kvällsmat i. Rummen trevliga och bra utrustning i köket. Frukosten beskrivs som ”legendarisk”, den var god, och nybakt bröd, men ganska vanlig, så jag vet inte vad som gör den legendarisk.
