Cozy 24 hours with mom with good food and drink

We had ordered a 3-course meal.
Gravad venison with mustard dressing and pickled mushrooms, fresh potatoes, white wine sauce with rainbow salmon and finally raspberry sorbet with lemon cake. Everything was delicious!

The best start to our honeymoon!

Incredible stay, we arrived on a beautiful sunny day as our first stop on our honeymoon. The castle is absolutely beautiful and peaceful, and the staff is incredibly friendly. Filip paired a wonderful wine with our lovely dinner, a meal we’ll remember forever. Fredrik was also lovely, and we really enjoyed chatting with him.
The room was clean and quiet, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We would have loved to stay one more night! And the breakfast.. there are no words, it was just too good.
Highly recommend Västanå Slott for anyone looking for a peaceful, beautiful escape.

Old castle charm and good wines

Me and my husband chose to first hike the West Anål trail, which is highly recommended. Then we checked into a category A room at the castle.
Great setting. A preserved castle with a lot of charm.
Three-course dinner with wine package was like that.
Very friendly staff. Good starter. Good venison for main course, but dry potato cake. The dessert was unfortunately so salty that it was not possible to eat. Salt cake and salt ice cream.
Very good wines!
Incredibly nice and knowledgeable sommelier and son of the house. Got some private tour of the castle.
Asked if it's haunted, but he didn't seem to have experienced it himself. An experience!
A little savory breakfast.
Very nice staff everywhere.

Historic feel

I had a room in the mainbuilding. It was cosy and small perfect for a person travelling alone. It was warm inside and only the window in the bathroom could be opened. The shower could be improved: to replace the curtain with a screen. I had dinner as well. Great food! Three tips: give an option to skip the bubbles, serve some bread and include the coffee/tea in the offering.

Wow!

What an amazing place. Incredibly beautiful and period decor and beautiful rooms. We stayed in an A double room. We upgraded our dinner to a five course menu and also took the wine package to. Never have we ever… drunk such a suitable wine package with food. Food and drinks were superb. Thanks for that! Breakfast in the morning was generous and nice, however, there are no hot options. The son of the house was incredibly accommodating and informative. A wonderful stay!
