Helpful and friendly

I was looking for a stopover in Knysna and this was the perfect place to stay. They made arrangements for me to arrive late at night.
Close to the lake and amenities in town.
Clean, neat and friendly.

Our second visit

Reasonably priced accommodation that is good for a night. Friendly, helpful service. We have stayed here before and will again as this is adequate if one is simply looking for a bed for the night. Rooms are rather small, so i would not recommend for a longer stay period

VALUE FOR MONEY

Over the years my family and I have often stayed at this establishment. The rooms are wooden (as many in Knysna are) and well equipped. I think the price of the rooms is quite modest. The rooms have a small kitchenette. Clean and well equipped.

Poor service

I booked a room which was confirmed telephonically- on arrival (20 minutes after the call) I was advised the room was given away as the owner/manager was busy with maintenance and never blocked the room on the system!

Dear Guest, I regret that I disappointed you and lost out on your business. I was surprised and disappointed that our interaction left you with a negative feeling regarding my level of customer service, as this is the one thing we focus on to be one of the best. Thank you for sharing your experience but I am really not sure what I could have done to prevented this situation. This leaves me with a dilemma. I always try to insure that our guests leave us satisfied and with good memories, and where I failed I always improve my procedures and facilities. If I think about your situation the only thing that could have prevented it from my side was to refuse any last minute telephonic bookings except if I am at my computer and make the booking on my system. I was a bit surprised by the negativity of your response, as we rectified the situation immediately, but please forgive me for the obvious inconvenience you experienced. As discussed with you by Andre my husband who was on duty, you phoned while I was out and he busy with emergency maintenance in one of the 2 suites that was available at that stage. He just completed this maintenance when guests arrived stating that they have just booked 2 suites online. While trying to sort this situation out, you arrived. Andre informed you that he did not block the room on our booking system when you phoned as he was busy and could not have foreseen that both available suites might be booked in such a short time span. As this other guests were a group with one vehicle, he chose to inform you that we could not accommodate you at our venue but that he will find suitable accommodation for your consideration close by. He phoned around and found you similar accommodation 100m from us and negotiated the price down to be in line with our offer. You preferred to not to go there to have a look as they phoned 30 min later requesting from him your planned time of arrival. I trust you found suitable accommodation elsewhere for that evening and will return again to Lakeside Accommodation in Knysna sometime in the future, regards, Laurette (Owner)
