Perfect!
Our overnight stay at The Whyte House was perfect! Rob was very welcoming and offered great advice for our onward travels. Being winter, the heater was turned on in the evening so the room was warm and cosy when we returned from our night out. The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in!
Oh and Aimee serves the best breakfast … the omelette was an absolute winner!

Whyte House
Awesome place with old world charm. Simplistic and comfortable. The hosts are friendly and the breakfast is good.

Not safe for women
Beautiful property but the vibe was off.
The host greeted us with odd remarks and lots of rules, then insisted a room with an external door that didn’t lock was only an issue if we made it an issue.
The lock was broken, the bolt was missing, and the host’s attempts at whacking the lock with a hammer were unsuccessful.
The host suggested he book one of us somewhere else. We declined so he ultimately booked all three of us into another guest house called Sundays Karoo. This was a lovely experience including hash browns for breakfast .

I am very sorry that you were unable to complete your stay with us. As explained to you via email unfortunately the guest who stayed in your room previously was extremely rough with the door and although it was tested and fine after we had it fixed it ultimately wouldn't lock the next day. And we had to replace the lock entirely. Unfortunately maintenance issues do happen as is life, and usually at unhelpful times, e.g. after hours. We have been operating since 2017 with zero security issues and have had hundreds of single women stay with us, so I am very sorry that you didn't feel safe. We organized a relocation for your group at our expense so I am sorry that this goodwill didn't come across to you as such. All of our best, Aimee

Winter weekend break in Graaf Reinet
Well located and comfortable B&B in a quiet area of a quiet town - ideal for an extended weekend break. Rob, Aimee and the staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful hosts, with good suggestions for restaurants, places of interest, etc. Aimee does a super breakfast!
