good location

The staff can't speak English well, it's hard to communicate with him, but the owner of the house speaks English fluently, he can help on what we need.
It is near the centre of the city. Some attractions can be reached on foot.

Quaint hotel but eat out

Stayed here for 2 nights before flying out of Sri Lanka. Good location next to the canal, less than 10 minute walk to the bus station. The hotel is set in a beautiful building with a large communal area outside the bedrooms. The rooms are comfortable and a good size and they were cleaned to a good standard. We negotiate a price with the owner over the phone, he was quite petty and we agreed a price where we wouldn't have some of the usual comforts he supplies (top sheet, towels and bottled water, we didn't need any of these these things). We only met him face-to-face once as we paid on our final day and he was pleasant enough. There are no mosquito nets supplied but they are required, I was bitten quite a lot each night although our window was closed all night. No others bugs in the room. We chose to order breakfast for both mornings but it wouldn't recommend it, it's well cooked but it is very small and not value for money, there is a large bakery or Indian restaurant for great breakfast within 2mins walk of the hotel. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. There are children's climbing frames and a rope swing outside, good hotel for families, couples, friends. Maybe not as good for solo or female travellers if you want to meet people as the hotel isn't located in the popular strip of hotels and restaurants

Not worth

Booking system is not good. I had booked for single attached room but got common wash room for the first day.
The owner charges double rates as commission for everything other than boarding n lodging. Do not book cab or any activies thorough him.
Also found cockroaches running around in the room n toilet.
The locality and surrounding are very good. But with lots of mosquitoes. Breakfast is good.
There are better places to stay at negombo.

Horrible and Haunted place

Better find some good hotel in sea street road near beach. As per charges get nothing. No T.V in room. Furniture very old. Full of insects and very dirty. Owner is cheater, charged almost double for every thing. Better contact other agent for tour and sight seeing. Owner will ask you to bring 2 bottles of whisky from Airport duty free, but dont bring it for him.... He is fooling people only.Nothing to do in hamilton.... except boring... my advise dont go to this hamilton house.

Horrible. ..owner is only intrested in money and ask you to bring liquor

In this amount you can get a decent 3* place with good facilities. The owner is only fooling people....this place is full of insects and very dirty. Friends try on beach road, you will be more than happy but not surly not here.
