Beautiful unique house, with amazing breakfast.

I had an amazing stay in Highbury, placed perfectly in Colombo 5. The room was lovely and spaceous, with nice views out towards the sea. The house itself was beautiful, with an amazing garden full of flowers and wildlife. The breakfast was amazing, with local fruits (some even from the garden) and local food cooked fresh in the morning. My room was quiet and clean. I would recommend to anyone that likes nice boutique hotels that make you feel like you are in Sri Lanka and not a faceless hotel you can find elsewhere.

A beautiful oasis in a quiet neighbourhood

I actually stayed here in 2024 December. I wanted somewhere to stay for a few days urgently and wanted somewhere safe. Highbury Colombo fitted perfectly for what I needed. The host was fantastic. The property is situated in a quiet neighbourhood. The grounds have been kept really nicely. My room was at the back of the building with a beautiful bathroom. The room was very spacious, the AC worked perfectly. I didn't have any meals here, I know they offer meals if you pre order.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful setting

Could not recommend this hotel more! Wonderful family, peaceful garden, so many great conversations and a really peaceful neighborhood. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to experience Colombo at its best. Breakfast was fantastic and I learned about so many new spices and foods from Sri Lanka, especially because they have some spice and coconut plantations and are very knowledgable about plants! Highly highly recommend. Not to mention the fantastic architecture and garden you will stay in. Lush!

ABC - Ants, Beetles and Cockroaches

The room was infested with ants, what I thought were bed bugs but found out were wood beetles (with carry mites) and cockroaches. Had to spray my sheets every night for the ants and use roach spray around the bed. Woke up with bug bites evey morning. One morning I had over 100 bites and had to go to the clinic to get medication for the swelling and itch. Asked for some type of refund but they said they couldn't because it would cut into their profit margin. Only picked this B&B because it was 1 street over from where I used to live in Colombo.
