Great local family and food

Lovely smiling family. They don't speak English too much but enough to get by. Room very basic - it's a room attached onto their home but more than nice enough. Wifi is very fast. Food was absolutely delicious and lots of it for cheap. Homestay is easy to find-just on the Badulla Road with a big sign.
Only problem I had is that I asked to organize a tuk tuk to Ella Rock and they said the guy is good and he can also guide me up the rock as it's easy to get lost. All for 1,500 rupees. The driver came and he took me to Little Adams Peak, at which point I told him I didn't want that, only Ella Rock. He told me he thought it was the same thing. So basically he would be hopeless as a guide up the rock if he didn't even know where the rock was! So I asked to take me back to the homestay where I'll organize it another way. I had to pay 500 rupees for his journey to the homestay and back.
Great authentic homestay, lovely people. Just don't book any tours through them.

very satisfied

This is an absolutely beautiful place near Ella with amazing hosts. Even though Kamal was out of town during most of our stay, he gave us all the information we needed for a wonderful stay and his parents were incredibly hospitable. The place itself was our favorite, surrounded by lush forests and river right outside the window. Highly recommended. It is close enough to Ella to be convenient yet not right in the town so there is more peace and solitude.
