Fabulous room- food- staff- cleaners are gold star.

Fabulous stay room 11 Fri- Mon, the bedroom, bathroom, hotel is very, very clean (They deserve a gold star alone) The food is excellent quality, the breakfast is one of the best we’ve had in a long while with top food sourced. Our bed was exceptionally comfortable and the original windows great to see, you’d think noise- certainly not. Very busy downstairs albeit you hear nothing at all upstairs. I had a peep in the great hall- the door was open, looks good for meetings, wedding receptions, christenings, wakes. We took our dog and she too settled happily. All in all, if this hotel has a space to stay book it, the staff were all kind and happy, the car park is free for hotel guests. Brewery on site, we didn’t get the chance to visit, delightful park 6 mins walk away for pooch walks- very safe and clean.
The Hart was a great surprise of a stay as we visited the Stalking Show 15 mins drive away- straight route-easy drive. The town is small but quint to walk around, great bakers and self businesses to visit. We will definitely stay again.
Please could a mini blind - screen be placed for the bathroom window.

Nightmare to book

Just tried to book for 16 July Tapas night. Absolute nightmare. Eventually given up. £70 lost for the business

5 star stay

In my opinion this hotel /restaurant is 5 star, the vibe was great, the rooms are very comfortable, very clean, well organised and great value.
The staff are very attentive, helpful and welcoming, we will book again for sure.

New Year Races

Stayed at the refurbished Hart for two nights over New Year to go to the races and have a break. Great hotel, beautifully refurbished, comfy modern rooms, excellent food and great staff!
We couldn’t have asked for more.
It was in walking distance to the racecourse ,shops and independant cafes/bars.
New Years Eve dinner and entertainment was spot on , great atmosphere.
Many thanks to the manager Jakob and his team

Unforgettably wonderful stay at The Hart

I really don't know where to begin to describe what an amazing stay I had at this hotel. My family has a long history with the property, and the last time I stayed there (under different ownership, years ago) it was really in a sad state. The reopened, refurbished version was a revelation. Beautiful layout, lovely, comfortable rooms, and a team of staff that would do anything to make sure I had a great stay.
I was in the UK unexpectedly, to assist my elderly parents, and it was a rough trip at times. That hotel was a sanctuary for me. Jacob, the manager, went out of his way to check on me, see if I needed anything, and went above and beyond to help with issues - including when British Airways didn't get me my luggage for four days. He was an absolute brick.
Every evening I would come back to smiling staff that became family by the end. Dan, Anthony, Grace, Ann-Marie, Neesh, Cassidy, Oliver, Scarlett, Izzy are just some of the people who looked after me, and with whom I spent time in the evenings when I needed to decompress.
The restaurant is fabulous - loved the food and cocktails - and, at Christmas, it was beautifully decorated to create a wonderful atmosphere.
I used to have to stay at the Premier Inn in Uttoxeter with very few alternatives available. I am so happy that the Hart is back and thriving. Believe me, this is the place you need to stay when in the area. I loved it so much, I would even consider staying there if my business was based elsewhere.
There is no question that the hotel itself has been thoughtfully appointed and beautifully decorated, but it's the staff that elevate it to a place not to miss.
