100% a perfect place to stop
We stopped in the sheperds hut. A really pleasant experience. For a compact place all what you needed was there. Very clean and good quality fitments. Kitchen and toilet. Shower was excellent and the toilet flush was really good. A nice little private patio outside room enough for another couple of guests to join you for celebrations or just visit. Could not fault it. We had all our meals there during our stay. The staff were very nice and nothing too much trouble. The food was well presented, hot and perfectly cooked. We will be booking next year with hopefully a longer stay. Whilst there they had a large celebration party with alot of children and in the morning all grounds and in the pub was really clean. Hardworking staff. Just as a last point to make, considering how close you are to the main busy road. When you close your door all the noise dissappears. A good sun trap for all huts and lodges.

Excellent value for money
Ore-booking was easy and communication prior to staying was good. We had a major hiccup on arrival but it was soon resolved. Our room was very clean as was the bathroom and the towels were bright white and fluffy. Good selection of toiletries were provided and the staff and Alastair were very responsive to our requests. It is in advisable to drink the water, we were told, but plenty of bottled water was supplied and topped up when requested. Nothing was too much trouble. The budget price does not reflect the quality of the hotel. You get more than what you pay for. Excellent value for money. Note: the pub attached to the accommodation does not do breakfast and there are no facilities in the room for this. However, there are some lovely, good value breakfast options nearby - Hartlebury Castle and a garden centre. There’s even a fresh milk dispenser and snack vending machine on site. Very novel. A lovely outside play park for children too.

Zero sound-proofing!
It’s 6:45am and we’re sitting up in bed, listening to the TV in the lodge next door. Yes, everything the reviews say about zero sound-proofing is true. We spent most of the night listening to the loud, rhythmic snoring coming from Lodge 4 (8 hours or so), followed by incessant coughing, and now the telly.
Cheap(ish), clean, convenient accommodation for one night but wouldn’t recommend if you actually want some rest.

Take care on the decking!!!
Accommodation was fine, although would have preferred feather as opposed to foam pillows, but I guess that’s just my own taste.
Room was warm enough. Shower was good, plenty of hot water and good flow.
We ate at the pub next door, and would have to say that it was standard catering fayre - nothing special.
What was most disappointing, was the lack of maintenance on the wooden decking area. This was extremely dangerous, as the lack of maintenance meant that a buildup of algae on the wet wooden decking made it very slippery. Although I tried to tread carefully, I nevertheless ended up taking a hard fall. The staff member I spoke to was aware of how slippery it was, but to my mind it’s not acceptable to be aware of a dangerous situation and not address it.
I note that one of the other reviews says that the guest was made aware that the tapwater was not drinkable. We were not aware of this, and saw no signs in the room that indicated this important point.

40th anniversary meal
Had a table for 20 friends for dinner, the food was excellent and both members of staff were both friendly and helpful. The food all came out quickly and hot plus very good value for money. I dealt with Alister the owner a few times prior to our event he was very pleasant and helpful . Some of our guests stayed in the lodges and said how clean comfortable and warm they were . A great venue with excellent staff/ food and good value for money
