A lovely stay.
Breakfast was provided in the room and there was a good selection of cereals, yoghurt, toast, jams and marmalades, fruit juices plus fresh ground coffee, tea and hot chocolate.
I had one evening meal cooked by Nelio the owner and it was delicious. It was cooked fresh and the lamb was perfect. Even better was the extra red wine sauce he brought me.
Nelio was really interesting to talk to and between us we put the world to rights.
If you want a unique place to stay that is homely and where you feel like a special guest then Candlesticks is the place to visit.

Nelio is the most genial of hosts.
Perfectly situated for the town and Burghley house.
Nice little restaurant attached to the property too.

Catch up with family.
Breakfast is provided in your bedroom, with all you need for a breakfast: cereal, bread, butter, jam, yoghurt, orange juice milk, water and a toaster. A cooked breakfast can be provided on request. The hotel is mainly unmanned but the very friendly host meets and greets and is a phone call away. I tend to be out all day so it met my needs. If you want a bar and food provided during the daytime this hotel wouldn't be for you but for a clean comfy place to come back to it's just the place.
