Don't bother if you're looking for rest and relaxation

Originally was in love with this place when I arrived. Beautiful hotel, high ceilings, shutters on the windows. I was here for work and as a night shift worker I am fully prepared for the daily noise, I have head phones and music which drown ls the normal stuff out.
Unfortunately, when I arrived at the hotel my second day there was construction going on directly outside my room - I later went to check to find they were pulling up concrete and putting in a new fence and gate on the connecting wall. Constant banging and drilling - for HOURS.
Not only that but the the gentleman working outside kept standing outside my bathroom window which did have an obscuring film on - that DIDN'T reach the edges of the windows so he could see right into the bathroom - a clear view of both the toilet and shower. So I didn't get to shower off after a night's work on one of the hottest days of the year and had my eyes glued to the window everytime I needed to go to the restroom. Wonderful....
In the end I gave up on sleep. The noise stopped at about 1pm-ish (was going from the time I got back in that morning at just after 9am) and I could settle after being so upset. Obviously noone on site to speak to either. I packed up my stuff and checked out early that afternoon and paid for another hotel instead.
I paid close to £300 for two nights. I would have expected a little bit of peace. But apparently not. I would not recommend, they obviously care little about their patrons once they have the money.

Last minute booking made at 8pm by 11.30pm was at the property and no lockbox enaul had been forwarded so could not get into the property. Had to find alternative accomodation as could not waitcany longer for the info as no indication my issue was being addressed. Finally received the lockbox email at 12 30am 4.5hrs after the booking.
Would not advise last minute/evening bookings for this venue.

The property was easy to find and conveniently situated. However, there was a lot of traffic noise. It felt very "stuffy" when we arrived, would have liked to be able to open a window for ventilation.

The rooms were very large, the ensuite was clean and toiletries were provided. The only suggestion would be for the floorboards in the room above Sopwell (ground floor) to be screwed down as these were squeaky when the occupant in the room above was moving around which woke us up as the squeaks were quite loud.
The free parking was great and the system was easy to use, the instructions sent prior to arrival were clear for the check-in and checkout process.
