Good value for money but the Sunday morning reception female staff member coukd be a little less uptight and impersonal
Sat evening welcome very good
Only one raspberry tiny jam at braskdast ? Surely you could get more !?
No bar or food at Jonas Saturday evening avd offering at the Halifax hotel next door very limited and expensive

the rooms could do with at least a hair dryer
in room 315 the bedside lamp flickered continuously
the lift did not stop on the third floor
there is no indication on your website of the small size of the rooms, hardly big enough for two people

Jonas is cheap and cheerful. Stylish lounge area. Convenient for the university. Free parking. A communal kitchen is available. Free drink and croissant for breakfast. On the downside the beds are only three quarter width and jammed against the wall so better for one person than two. The small rooms are stuffy in hot weather. Still a bargain though.

Although small, the room was very clean and comfortable and adequate for a short stay. I would not recommend it for 2 people. It was very hot though and needs better ventilation or some air conditioning.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Parking was limited but we did manage to get a space.
It would have been nice to have had tea/coffee making facility in the room as the communal kitchen was very dirty with unwashed pots and lots of unpleasant food in the fridge. That said, there was a lady cleaning it the second day we were there.
This was very suitable for a short stop-over and I would use it again.

I think the staff may hate their jobs - other explaination is that they hate the guests? Hearing them complain to each other about how busy it is for them in the morning certainly made me think twice about attending the "breakfast" offering. A little kindness goes a long way - maybe give some suggestions for those that have to wait a bit for check in - or where people can get food/drinks near the hotel? I defo felt "tolerated" at best.
The hotel itself is OK. The location was exactly what I needed as I had to attend at event at the university. The room felt like a jail cell. Stains on the walls, peeling furniture, and it wasn't the cleanest. The elevator smelled like pot. Noise travels throught the thin walls, with doors slamming regularly and clear conversations heard from the adjoining rooms.
The cost was reasonable - hence the 3 stars. But I would probably not stay here again. I would not recommend this for a longer stay, especially during term time when the surrounds would likely be louder.
