The bedroom was immaculate and the breakfast was great, faultless. The area that could be improved is in the spa, and more specifically the restaurant attached. There is a clear issue with staffing, not enough and very new ones not being prepared. During my spa 'experience' I was sent into the restaurant to then be ignored for a good 30 minutes. The one girl in there was apparently not aware me and others were waiting to order food. When it came, the £20 udon noodle 'main' was literally just noodles with a few bits of red chilli and about 1 runner bean. No protein at all. You get £25 to use on the offer, tricky to cover a decent meal and a drink with this. Spa loungers were reserved for you with a little name tag, but had soaked coverings from previous guests. Already looking tired. No staff poolside if you want to order a hot drink etc (there used to be when it first re opened). I felt sorry for the girl in the restaurant, she said it was her first day. She didn't seem to have a clue. Bad service and a lack of it let's the spa down. Crazy when so much has been invested initially in refurb

We love it here. The local area and surrounds are stunning. The hotel and grounds are lovely, the rooms have comfy beds and pillows. The staff are very warm, friendly and efficient and the food onsite, very delicious. Thank you for another wonderful stay.

Lovely spa stay. Rooms clean and well kept. 2 restaurants, both a bit pricy for the quality of the food. Food was good, but not so good I'd be back for the food alone at that price. Spa treatments were excellent, but again definitely on the higher side. If you don't book directly with the hotel they add an extra £45 per person to use the spa for 2 hours!! It is a great place, but unfortunately I feel like they're trying to claim back the money they have invested into the hotel too hard and too quickly. It's a bit obvious with the high price points and extra charges which makes it all a little less appealing for me to return. Also if i'm paying £18 for a cocktail, I don't expect the bartender to tell me he has never made a margarita before!

We had a two-night stay in the beach house. While the room itself was acceptable, on closer inspection the bathroom did not appear to be thoroughly cleaned. In general, the attention to cleanliness in the main areas of the hotel also seemed lacking.
During our stay, we experienced a few maintenance issues. The hot tap in the outdoor bath leaked when in use, and in the room both the TV and lamps flickered intermittently.
Although breakfast was included, I was disappointed to learn it was served at the main hotel, approximately a four-minute walk away. Unfortunately, we had to make this walk in the rain, and were only offered a buggy ride on the return journey.
Finally, I feel that guests paying to stay at the hotel should have access to the spa facilities included, rather than being charged an additional £45 per person.

The hotel is gorgeous! Our room was perfect, lots of space and mostly very clean. The only bit that wasn’t was the balcony so when we stepped onto that, as it was a beautiful Easter weekend we then put the dirt onto the carpet.
Sunday lunch was lovely, the room we had it in was dog friendly and they were lovely to our boys (spaniel and GSD). We then went for a walk and a drink. I do wish we were allowed to take the dogs into the lounge or they had another area as we spent all our time in the orangery which was lovely but mixing it up and seeing more of the hotel would have been nice.
We came across a few issues over the weekend. One was they hadn’t told us the lunch menu and dinner menu were exactly the same and as we didn’t fancy have 2 roast dinners we needed up at the pizzeria which was very disappointing. The food was not cooked properly, it was cold and the service wasn’t great.
All in all we had an amazing trip and will be returning but will probably eat outside of the hotel next time
