Great location, Perfect facilities
Weekend break in Norwich for a theatre visit. Knew of The Castle from many years ago as a gay venue pub . However they have now expanded the premises after a big refurbishment and added rooms. The room is a self contained unit which is modern and clean very comfortable bed. Good bathroom with lovely shower. A small kitchenette with breakfast cereal, bread, jams , orange juice and fresh milk. Toaster, microwave and coffee machine. Good value for money in excellent location from the train station and the City centre though the Cathedral grounds. Staff very helpful After a night out in the city you can continue in the lively pub , with a very nice outside raised patio. Also there is a large enclosed club at the back of this. No noise issues as well. Very well thought out and set up. Would definitely use again and highly recommend.

Avoid at all costs the worst hotel I've stayed in.
There was six spiders in the shower along with mould, having long covid does not help with mould. Also the shelf in the shower was broke leaving sharp edges which were dangerous, also the the hand soap was broken with sharp edges. There was also three spiders in the kitchenette area, the toaster was full of old pieces of toast, there was also also peanuts from the previous people on the worktop lucky I don't have an allergy. There was hair in the drawers, there was also holes in the pillow cases, the whole room in general was dirty. There is no way this could be a called hotel, there's no room service, the room is never cleaned and if you ask for things they are not replaced. And when you complain they just make excuses and say the staff have only been there a week. I've stayed at hotels and B&B for half the price of this hotel and they have been better than here. The breakfast is a joke and totally not worth what they are charging for the room. At half the price this may be worth it but at £448 it is a total rip off, I would avoid this hotel all costs and spend your money elsewhere. Don't bother to stay and complain afterwards as they don't care, once they have your money they couldn't give a toss. This is probably, no definitely the worse hotel I've ever stayed in.

We were quite disappointed to read your review, given how differently you behaved during your four-night stay. You were pleasant and complimentary to staff throughout, made no mention of any issues with your room, and happily stayed the full duration which makes the dramatic tone of your comments after departure ring rather hollow.
For clarity, we are not a hotel and have never claimed to be. We provide self-contained rooms that are serviced on request, which was explained to you at check-in. Expectations like daily room service simply don’t apply here, and suggesting otherwise is misleading. The £448 you mention was for four nights, not one, so to describe that as a “rip-off” is disingenuous.
You’ve also contradicted yourself, describing our staff as “very helpful” before accusing them of not giving “a toss”. In reality, they responded quickly to the requests you made, providing fresh towels and breakfast supplies promptly whenever you asked.
After reading your review, we contacted you directly to discuss your comments. You confirmed that you had chosen not to report any of the alleged issues during your stay because, on one occasion when you requested towels, they weren’t left in your room straight away. This was on day two or three of your stay, despite the fact that you also acknowledged our staff did provide towels and other supplies promptly on other occasions. You also confirmed that you have no photographs or evidence of any of the issues you claimed.
If there had genuinely been mould, dirt, spiders, broken items or any of the other issues you’ve now listed, the appropriate time to mention them was during your stay, not to quietly say nothing for four nights and then post an exaggerated review once you’d gone.
We take pride in the consistently excellent feedback we receive from the vast majority of our guests. Your comments bear no resemblance to the experience you were given, and it’s clear that our accommodation simply isn’t suited to your expectations.
With that in mind, we would strongly encourage you to choose somewhere else in future as we certainly have no interest in hosting you again.

Bongos Bingo
Wow, 6 friends, stayed, we split up and we stayed in no 8! Room was fab, double bed and I got the single. En-suite and a kitchen. There was complimentary bread, cereals, apple juice, and milk, coffee and tea. I was so impressed with the value.
I will definitely come here again.

Idea for a couple of nights.
Was very cosy inside, and had all we needed for breakfast. Comfy bed, and traffic near the roundabout didn't disturb us at night. Close to the Cathedral, and station. Some of the paint work needed a bit of attention, and did find some cob webs in the kitchenette. 20 minutes walk to the station, and riverside.

An OK stay
The location was good as not too far from city centre. There was parking. We were shown to our room and were told there was tea, coffee and cereals for breakfast as well as bread. We had emailed then a few times informing about my mum being gluten intolerant but they did not reply. When we turned up we told them again and the person said its the manager who deals with requests. Luckily we took some food for breakfast with us. They provided soap for washing up but did not provide washing up sponges and kitchen roll. The beds were not comfortable. The shower was not very clean. They did not clean our room which meant that rubbish was being piled up and no bins to use outside so the room smelt. The staff did not check to see if we were ok. They should have advertised as self catering as we didn't have a good choice of breakfast and bought our own.
