Great location for a quiet getaway
We had the best time at this beautiful b and b with exceptional hosts Steve and Linda. The room was comfy and clean with decor akin to victorian era. The brew table in the room was stocked with cookies immediately snaffled by the other half each day. Good wifi and charging ports at bedside. The breakfast was not notch. I found the original artwork in the rooms and hallways stunning. Steve even showed my partner around the place, so accommodating, knowledgable and friendly. A great location in a quiet area with local pub within short walk, a short car journey to steam railway taking you to lakeside to board a boat onto windermere.

Pomona stay
I had a very comfortable stay at this lovely spot, perfectly located close to Coniston and the surrounding areas. The hosts were absolutely fantastic—so friendly, helpful, and informative. They made a superb breakfast every morning, and you could tell they’d put thought into all the small details that truly made a difference.
The rooms were clean, cozy, and well-maintained, with everything I needed to feel at home. Plus, there’s easy parking available, which was a huge plus. The property itself is quirky, unique, and well-kept, which added to its charm.
Overall, a delightful stay with warm, welcoming hosts. Highly recommend!

A little gem in the southern lakes
What a gem we found nestled in the countryside about a mile from Ulverston.
Steve and Linda were amazing hosts, chatty, and informative without being intrusive. We could come and go as we pleased, making it a real 'home from home'
The house is charming, with gorgeous original features and a host of Victorian antiquities.
The breakfast was amazing - we chose the full English, which set us up perfectly for the day. There is also an option to have a packed lunch made for you for the next day, perfect if you're planning on setting out for a days walking!
The room was cozy, immaculately clean and tidy, with all you need for a peaceful night's sleep. The shower room had everything you needed, including shower gel and hand-wash, and the shower was the perfect temperature (you'd be amazed how many we've come across that aren't!)
There are places to eat locally that can be reached by foot - we chose the Red Lion, a proper 'local' which had very good pub grub and excellent beer!
We would highly recommend a stay here and it will certainly be our first choice when we're in the area again!

A quintessential Lake District experience - skip the rest and book Pomona!
Pomono surpassed all our expectations. It is THE PERFECT stay when visiting the Lake District, totally in keeping with its surroundings. The location is perfect, the house is perfect, the rooms, the hosts, the breakfast, the atmosphere .... all perfect!
Pomono is ideally situated for visiting all areas of the Lake District, with everything about 30-60mins away from the house, including the less-populated West Coast. The house is easy to find and there is ample space for parking. The reception rooms are lovely proportions and the style of the cottage quintessentially 'Lake Districty'!
Rooms are beautifully aired and clean, warm and cosy, great WIFI and maps aplenty to use whilst there if you want a digital detox.
Breakfast is so lovely that my son is now a cooked breakfast convert and he loved having a specific time to eat, so much so, he set the table for us today and insisted we sit down together "to carry on our lovely holiday".
The hosts are the loveliest people and made us feel very welcome guests and we left feeling like we'd made two new friends who we won't ever forget.
Thank you both of you for making our first proper holiday in several years absolutely flawless!

Just wonderful
Pomona
We stayed for two nights at Pomona B&B due to the booking at a Sam Smith pub chain hotel being cancelled. Oh boy, we’re so happy we did!
For an area that in August is so expensive to stay in this “wonderful” B&B was a perfect delight.
Parking is so easy, then a short walk to the front door passing the we’ll kept front lawn into the most delightful flagstone front hall. This whole house just ouses charm. The sitting room with its chesterfield furniture, the dining area within the room filled with antiques of yesteryear.
Up the stairs passing an ingilnock window shows the age of the house plus the attention to detail of everything you see.
We stayed in the twin room with an on suite bathroom with floorboards that flowed into the bedroom. Like down stairs the light fittings were of Sherlock Holms eara only electric not gas. The servants bell pull was to turn on and off the antique lights.
For those that need their USB all the plug sockets have them pre fitted. The owners have thought of everything. We were also glad there was no television in the rooms which would have completely spoilt the room.
The bedroom and other rooms were completely soundproof from the outside world so have no worries there.
Breakfast was just so well done. Fresh, hot, delicious. Nothing else to say!
This B&B is spotlessly clean and when you talk to the owners their running it pretty much carbon neutral!
