Awesome food and atmosphere

We were hungry and had been on the road for hours and needed a bite to eat. No one was disappointed by the food but I must say that the Guinness and beef pie were my favourites. Yes, I admit that I am one of those guys that likes to try everyone’s meals. The atmosphere was amazing and the servers were awesome as well. I especially liked that fact that they have a menu for dogs. That just does not happen where I’m from (Canada)

Not a good food experience

The meals were very bland and really not worth the menu price, the plaice was cooked in a bag, no colour or flavour, it needs more flavour such as capers etc and the new potato’s had no butter in them.
Sorry a very bland meal which did not live up to the menu, and the boil in the bag plaice wasn’t actually fully cooked.
Not good.

Superb Golden Wedding Anniversary Weekend

Spent three nights at The Red Lion to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary with our Best Man, Brides Maid and their Partners, plus our two cockapoos. A superb weekend. The rooms, breakfasts and dinners were all excellent and we were able to eat in the beautiful garden. But what made it really special were the staff. Despite being incredibly busy they ALL made us feel really special withh nothing too much trouble. Thankyou Lisa, Sarah, Carl and the Red Lion Team.

Highly recommended.

We went for a small family meal, the food was excellent with a fantastic selection, and the service was second to none.
My daughter stopped the night and said the room was first class with all amenities.
They are VERY dog friendly and everything was available for the dogs.
I would highly recommend the Red Lion, it is a jewel in the Cotswolds.
