unexpected delight

We were back packing in Scotland, On a particular evening we decided to stay in Inverness but unfortunately all the rooms in town were booked. So we were looking for places around Inverness and thats when we came across Kinkell house.
We rang the hotel and made our reservation. We arrived there quite late in the night and were a little unsure if they had still hold on to our rooms. A kind lady was waiting on the reception for us and was swift to help us to our rooms after the initial mandatory procedures.
The rooms were quite big and cozy. The bed were very comfortable. The bathrooms were very clean and spacious. We were quick to sleep after a long day of travel.
The next day we were offered free breakfast. The food was quite tasty.
We were given access to the lounge area near the reception which were very big and had a character which really caught my attention.
Overall my stay at Kinkell house was excellent I enjoyed everything about it. I had a homely feeling during my stay there.
To me the only drawback was, I thought the prices were a bit expensive.

One night is enough

Fairly large room located near the castle. A parking lot if you need it, for us without a car it was too far from the train station. Aging bedding. A teapot without mugs and obviously without a spoon. And above all totally impersonal. Crossed paths with no one, saw no one.

Welcome Haven

We turned up on speck after running from the hostal we had booked. The hosts were very welcoming and the room fantastic. Lovely big room with comfy bed and en-suite shower. The hotel has an old world charm with lots of character and history. Plenty of private parking which is good for a place so close to the town centre. It was a short walk to the town centre and the local prison was right behind the hotel. Don´t let this put you off, all you could see is a wall and it was very quite. We had a great night sleep and the breakfast was spot on. Would have no hesitation to stay again.

Better than expected

It was wonderful to wake up to a beautiful landscape every morning and delicious cooked breakfast. The staff were pleasant and I will certiainly return if I travel to Inverness again.
Although the shower was a bit weak, the room and service made up for that! The dinner menu was very expensive though; it will be nice if those who stay can get a discount.

It's just a guest house, very much overpriced. Room was big enough, four lumpy beds, no ensuite the bathroom was across the hall. Felt old, tired and dusty, old stuffed animals on the walls. Needs a refurb.
breakfast was farmfoods/asda stuff, was okay I suppose.
Ok but £122 is far too expensive. But I suppose that's what you pay for the centre of Inverness, its's the same prices in London though!
