Disappointing, don’t go on a Sunday evening
After hearing great reviews from my friends locally, we opted to go to the tally Ho on a Sunday evening. I didn’t look online because I actually wanted to speak to someone in person to make sure they were happy to take a table Booking on a Sunday night as I know a lot of pubs close.
The menu looked delightful.
The drinks absolutely wonderful lots to choose from.
We had to ask what the pie of the day was and eventually our order was taken. I did feel sorry for the bar Lady as she was the only one on the floor on Sunday evening. The bar was busy and they were 3 tables eating as well.
We quickly made a decision of having a mushroom burger and a halloumi burger. After I believe around 50 minutes after ordering young bar lady came to tell us that they didn’t have any mushroom burgers left. Did apologise profusely as the chef had only just told her however we did order 50 minutes ago and they were only three tables.
Anyway, about another 20 minutes later, we received a very average burgers. As there was no Mushroom burger we were offered a falafel burger. Which sounded nice. The falafel burger was deep fried not too nice.
The halloumi burger was okay nothing to write home about just an average burger which he could’ve bought from a roadside van. The chips, I understand that it’s the end of the week so maybe the deep fat fried needed to clean but they were swimming in grease. I couldn’t eat them my husband did because he was absolutely hungry.
Didn’t bother waiting around to order desert. paid the bill which was discounted due to the lack of original burger being offered.
But all in all really disappointed after being highly recommended by friends. Perhaps we will be back in the future but not on a Sunday evening.
When we left, we did feel that we should’ve just gone to the co-op and got a pizza

Nice spot
The garden caught the sun well and had a nice selection of tables and covered seats.
The chips and onion rings were well cooked and everything you would want from a bit of a pub snack.

Just superb!
The pub itself is lovely and the staff were very nice and friendly and helpful.
