The room needed a bit of TLC to be honest. The radiators paint was peeling for example but the location and helpful staff were fantastic so overall a good experience.

I was very late getting to the hostel because of a delayed flight, but Allie, the night porter was so welcoming and helpful, l enjoyed my very short stay! Likewise, Heather, who l had spoken to earlier to explain my late arrival was very sympathetic! I would highly recommend this accommodation!

I truly enjoyed my stay at Glasgow Youth Hostel

The hostel offers excellent value for money, with clean rooms, spotless common areas, a well-equipped kitchen, and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to assist guests.
One thing worth noting is that the hostel is housed in a beautiful historic building on a hill and does not have a lift. Travellers with mobility issues or heavy luggage may find the stairs and uphill approach challenging.
For me, however, the outstanding staff, excellent location, and character of the building more than compensated for the extra effort. The views, the neighbourhood, and the proximity to many of Glasgow's attractions made it a wonderful base for exploring the city.
I would happily stay here again.

Clean room, great staffs, kitchen was clean. Location was good right at the west end. However, there was no elevator. People travelling with luggage’s is really difficult to carry them through the endless staircases to reach to the room. I would highly recommend all the hosteling Scotland's should have lift/elevator at least. Thanks

Staff were friendly and helpful. I loved the vintage feel it had. It overlooked a beautiful park where I spent a lot of time at. There a lot of stairs and no lift though. But I still had a nice stay.
