Unquestionably one of Bedfordshire's best restaurants

As we perused the menu with our drinks, we were brought olives and Cornfield's superb cheese straws (light, flaky and intensely cheesey). A very good start. My soup's three main ingredients merged perfectly and my guest's mouth-watering baked camembert was beautifully light, with a crispy crust. Our sliced duck and halibut & prawn thermidor were equally delicious, as was Cornfield's famed Dauphinoise potatoes. Carrots, cauliflower and broccoli were on the soft side of al dente, exactly how I like them. Desserts of creme brulee and chocolate with raspberries were light and a perfect end to the meal.
I have eaten there many times and Cornfields has never failed to provide a wonderful dining experience in a lovely timbered tavern setting. This truly is one of Bedfordshire's outstanding restaurants.

Very cosy place. Old house very good atmosphere. Room located in a remote building under the trees. Countryside ambiance.

Excellent Service, Excelllent Breakfast. On my first visit I was warmly received one evening when I booked last minute and will stay again. Excellent en suite bathroom and great hot rain shower.

Fantastic, as always

My favourite restaurant in Bedfordshire just never lets me down. We rated our starters as 10/10 and 10/10, absolutely delicious. Then the same with our main courses: 10/10 and 10/10 again, with the ingredients complementing each other perfectly and the sauces mouth-watering; and the accompanying Dauphinoise potatoes were exquisite too. Desserts were good: 9/10 and 9/10. Lovely old tavern surroundings, tactful host and friendly, helpful waitress. Very very close to perfection.
[This is a review of the superb restaurant, not of the hotal (I live only a few mileds away)]
