Don't book avon blackpool

The avon we booked it as we stayed there before it was beautiful when we arrived the manager showed us the room was on top floor 4 flights of stairs no lift as I booked a ground floor or 1st floor as my freind has asthma n I had surgery on my ankle got metal plates in he said there where fully booked so we manged to get to room which was very dirty bedding handent been changed in months we couldn't sleep there toilet leaking terrible windows wouldn't close room was really disgusting I wouldn't even give them a 1 when we left property we found out that refugees are staying there as he told us we didn't even feel safe there not refugees fault but owner need to knock it down not fit for purpose

One word..... DON'T!

Do not book this grubby place. There is NO BREAKFAST! We arrived to be told the place was under new management, and they no longer have breakfasts, when we booked they did. The decent photos are way out of date. I have no clue how some people have been awarding more stars. The rooms are grubby, dirty and the WHOLE place needs massive investment. The rooms were hotboxes, no ventilation and not particularly comfortable. The iron looks like it's been used to make toast, the ironing board stained, just like some of the draws. So bad, we left a day early. You have been warned.

Never again

The hotel is in need of desperate tlc. The lobby does not look welcoming. Dirty and stained chairs. There's a vending machine in the hall that looks like it's not been touched since 1800s. Upon entry to the room the room it looked fine. Lovely purple colour. But the was a hole/crack in the window which made it cold all night. The bathroom door couldn't be closed from inside. it was a sliding door but the bottom part was off the hinges. There was no handle inside. The shower was fine. Good water pressure but the bathroom was very small. The room didn't look like it had been cleaned well. Marks on the carpet, walls, mirror, stains in the tables. The room didn't smell which was a plus and the bed wasn't too uncomfortable. Its in a really great location and somewhere to stay for a night but I won't be returning. The place looks like it has lots of potential but management need to restart and really take care of the building and rooms.

The good, the bad and the ugly sums up the Avon.
The good included the host who provided great customer service and a warm welcome, the double en suite rooms I stayed in were of a good standard despite requiring some TLC to the décor and had some maintenance issues (like a broken shower head), the price paid was very reasonable offering value for money, the Wi-Fi worked well and the space was by in large clean.
The bad was the lack of any food or beverage provision, so no breakfast, the old televisions, the noise from the street due to being unable to close one of the windows and the single room I stayed in for one night was very compact had nowhere to sit other than on the broken bed, the single room’s television was extremely small and therefore unwatchable.
The ugly – well that has to be the outside of the building and the reception front room – when I first arrived at the property I nearly did not ring the bell and check in – the appearance of the exterior portrays a rundown hovel of a place and when get passed the disgustingly filthy front door first impressions do not get any better given the sparse, undecorated, uncared for, rubbish and clutter strewn front room of the property that acts as reception.
Located five minute walk from the promenade, the beach, the Winter Gardens and the Tower is some twenty minutes walk from Blackpool North station.

Not good place to go 5 unhappy people had to leave

We had to leave the rooms was musty smell the room I was allocated the casing was coming away from the door there was no proper reception room there was 5 of us and each room was bad no proper matching covers toilet would not flush they said they have only took over 2week ago if the hotel inspector went to look at it he would tell them to close until all the jobs have been done I have photo of door casing to prove it the owner who as took it on seems a nice person he is called amar it looks nothing like the photos
