Lovely staff and perfect setting
We had a lovely meal and even though one of my friends didn’t want what was on the set menu she was offered an alternative choice with no fuss or bother at all.
The sunset from the terrace was amazing.
Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Seaside break
A beautiful hotel in a fabulous position, we had a seaview room with balcony, all very comfortable
All the staff were friendly & helpfull
Not a huge menu for dinner but enough of a choice and well presented.

A cheerful, happy and thoroughly welcoming place, The Hotel Commodore, Instow
As you turn off the Marine Drive into the grounds after a three hundred mile drive, the neat lawns, the large mature, weathered trees and the fresh whitewashed building; perhaps that is a northern term, welcome you.
This welcome is extended in the the building, you are struck by the light, immaculately clean appearance as you are shown to your room, a mirror of your first impression.
The real welcome are the staff each and everyone, this is a family business and it doesn't take long for you to feel part of the family. My wife and I are both disabled and everything is done to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
The menu has something for all tastes.
Within a short distance there are many interesting places to explore, but it is equally appealing to sit in the lounge or your room and watch the ever changing scene of the tidal River Torridge.
We have booked for next year.
