Very disappointing. Tired and dated.

This hotel is in a lovely setting. However, not sure how it is classed as Four star.
Reception staff were nice and friendly.
Our room was dated, stains on carpet, wall, chair. Just really needs ripped out and refreshed.
Furniture in room 103 has certainly seen better days
The smell of cooking oil/fat greets you from reception and the bar area.
Bed was so soft and really uncomfortable.
Damaged and chipped counter top on bathroom.
We had food in the evening, which was nice but did not have breakfast.
In my view, totally overpriced. Would not stay here again.

Stinky grubby and just sad!

The room i was in was simply awful. Terrible smell of damp, the bed was rock hard, to the extent that an old hip injury has flared up again. Shower so encrusted with limescale and black spots on tiling.i didn't feel comfortable using them.. goodness knows what was going on with the kettle it stunk of body odour when I turned it on, so no drinks for me. Breakfast was passable at best but staff nowhere to be seen so it wasn't until I was half way though the beans on toast I made, that someone else came in and asked a member of staff, that I even knew there were vegetarian options available. Would not recommend!

Increasing tariffs are not reflected in the quality of the room

Have stayed here several times. The restaurant has been renovated but the bedrooms have not. Yes they have replaced the televisions but the furniture is tired and worn, bed was hard and I was able to feel every spring causing my hips to ache. Shower head was thick with limescale, bath overflow dirty, shower curtain discoloured and bath mat had holes and loose threads. The staff are very helpful and friendly which is huge points in the Lodge's favour and the breakfast was great. Convenient for exhibitors on site but ever increasing tariffs are not reflected in the quality of the room

Booked direct
Roger that took the booking was excellent
Checked in was good
Double standard room on first floor
Adequate size
Yes a lick of paint would be good, tv about a foot square totally not good
Did not even switch it on
Bed comfortable and clean
Woken up several times by the internal fire doors in the corridor when opened slam together
Breakfast was ok and just ok
Bacon, eggs under heat lamps dry and tough
Spoke to reception on checking out and said re the fire doors being so noisy
“Oh sorry”
Was the reply
Not good enough I thought
Also along drive today after leaving
Think you could find a lot better for the price nearby
£120 for the double £90 for the single
Real shame really

The staff was great the hotel was not

The room seemed very tired The TV was the size of a shoebox, which in this day and age I don’t think it’s acceptable. The furniture was missing handles for the bedside cabinets, and it looks like there was an old TV stand that had been adapted to hold tea and coffee making equipment. The bed was very uncomfortable stains all over the bedroom carpet. Had difficulties with the hot water in my room. Also had to leave the taps running for a considerable amount of time which bothers me as it’s a terrible waste of resources. between five and 10 minutes running before we got lukewarm water. I don’t think I would stay in the lodge again, even though it was only 400 m away from where I needed to be in the mornings. I think I would prefer to stay in Coventry and drive in. And
