Location was excellent. The staff was absolutely amazing extremely helpful and kind. The food was wonderful. I’d highly recommend this hotel. It’s much more than just a hotel here. It’s definitely an experience you’ll remember.

Amazing but true

The lady who attended us at reception was a very unpleasant person. It seems that the Spaniards (the pousada is on the border) do not like them. She did her best to make us uncomfortable and not happy with that, she charged us on the card for the stay on 2 different days. I claimed it and obviously they returned it but they did not answer the question of who had authorized the charge, they told me by phone that there was another client who was called like me, excuse absurd where there are
I submitted 2 written claims and had no answer, I was only given that excuse by phone from the pousada.
The pousada needs reform although its position is unbeatable. The service I've already defined.

Unforgettable

Excellent Pousada, as always a wonder, decoration and staff. I spent more than 5 years in Valença do Minho and of course I book from 1 to 2 nights.

A special stay inside the Valença fortress

A special stay inside the Valença fortress. We really enjoyed our stay at the Pousada de Valença. It has a classic, welcoming feel — more like a family-run inn than a hotel. The staff were kind and attentive, and made everything easy for us. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, with beautiful views across the hills and the Minho River into Spain. Getting a room with a balcony and view is definitely worth it. The setting inside the walled fortress is one of a kind — quiet, historic, and full of charm. We’d happily stay again.
