good for holidays

Solid standard accomodation, 100 m walk to the beach, 700 m walk to the centre of city with pubs, restaurants etc,
Good european cousine, place for conferences, own aquapark.
Not very expensive, clean and cosy rooms, good & helpful stuff.

Far Below 4-Star Expectations

Unfortunately, we rate our stay at Hotel Jan in Darłowo very negatively and, based on our own experience, we definitely cannot recommend this property, especially to families with small children.
The conditions we encountered on site were, in our opinion, far below the standard one would expect from a hotel of this category. The biggest issues concerned the condition of the room, cleanliness, and safety. The mattress on the bed was dirty, clearly worn out and deformed, with visible dents, which significantly reduced sleeping comfort. The bed linen also did not give the impression of being properly clean, and the baby cot we received was dirty. Only after our firm complaint was the mattress replaced, but this happened only after four nights of our stay. The metal bed frame also did not meet the standard expected of a hotel bed.
Room cleaning was irregular and superficial. On some occasions, when we informed the staff that our child was sleeping in the room, they refused to return later. Cleaning was often limited only to individual tasks specifically pointed out by us. As a result, during our approximately three-week stay, the bathroom mirrors were not cleaned even once, the balcony remained dirty from check-in until check-out, and insects appeared in the bathroom.
The balcony was practically unusable. The balcony glass was cracked, which, when staying with a small child, posed a real safety risk for us. The balcony furniture was dirty with bird droppings and was technically defective — torn and unfit for use. It is difficult to consider such conditions acceptable in a hotel that should provide guests with safe and comfortable accommodation.
There were also other concerning safety issues. There was a loose electrical socket in the room, which is particularly dangerous when staying with a small child. The high chairs for children did not have safety belts. In addition, there were situations on the hotel premises where delivery vehicles blocked the exit and the fire access road.
A major disappointment was the unavailability of attractions that were one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. The hotel swimming pool was out of service, and we had not been clearly informed about this in advance. In addition, the children’s pool in the aquapark was also closed. For a family with a child, this was a very significant inconvenience. Had we known that these facilities would not be available, we would not have chosen this stay. We did not find any information on the hotel’s website about the renovation of the hotel swimming pool.
The air conditioning was also very noisy and made it difficult to sleep and rest, even on the lowest settings. Although we reported the issue to the staff, it was not effectively resolved. The internet connection was also very poor, both in the room and in common areas such as the gym. When we reported the problem, we received an unprofessional response from a staff member who simply stated that the internet worked on her private phone.
We also rate the quality and variety of food negatively. The selection of hot dishes was limited and monotonous — for example, hot sausage was served in several different forms during the same breakfast. During a longer, approximately three-week stay, this was particularly inconvenient.
We tried to resolve these issues amicably and reported the problems directly to the hotel manager. Unfortunately, our concerns were not met with an appropriate response, and no real compensation for the reduced standard of our stay was offered.
In summary, our holiday was largely spoiled by numerous shortcomings relating to cleanliness, safety, the technical condition of the equipment, the quality of service, and the unavailability of advertised attractions. In our opinion, the standard of the hotel is significantly lower than expected, and the property urgently requires improvement, especially in terms of accommodating families with children. We do not recommend this place.

Don’t go there

No internet old furniture, no shampoo. Internet is poor everywhere in hotel. What??? It’s 2025! Get with the program. Rooms are dated, can’t put 2 chairs on balcony. We came by bikes maybe they think we don’t derserve the best their hotel can offer??? We are the best customer checking late checking out early, boo

Located near the beach

Located near the beach. Area very quiet and peaceful. Rooms clean, especially those in the main building. Standard of services in the conference a little lower. Food very good and varied. The hotel runs animations. The biggest attraction is the free access to the water park. I recommend for small children.

Spodziewałam się więcej

Sama lokalizacja na plus. Blisko do morza i na plażę.
Zarezerwowałam pokój z antresolą. Na dole znajdowała się kanapa, stolik, 2 krzesła, TV, szafki oraz łazienka. Na górze łóżka oraz fotele. Ogólnie widać miejscami niedorobienia- połatana ściana w kilku miejscach w pokoju, nieprzyjemny zapach z łazienki, brak kosmetyków hotelowych (jedynie kilka mydełek).
Nie wszystkie kaloryfery w pokoju grzały, przez co ciężko było wysuszyć rzeczy po basenie.
Basen hotelowy mały, ale przyjemny. W ścianach jest kilka dysz oraz wodospad, jest też sauna.
Sam aquapark również bardzo przyjemny. Podzielony na kilka stref (dla dzieci, tory do pływania, "rzeka", siedziska z hydromasażem, 2 wodospady, zjeżdżalnie).
Co do jedzenia to śniadanie jak i obiadokolacja smaczne- zróżnicowane. Na śniadania spory wybór wędlin, serów, warzyw. Co do obiadokolacji to wszystkie mięsa jak i ryby były smaczne. Jadalnia dosyć spora.
Restauracja Hotelowa połączona z barem również dość fajna. Miła Pani Barmanka, dobre drinki, również smaczne jedzenie.
