A reasonably place to stay in Mancora!
My friend and i decided to stay at Rio Hotels, as we read the reviews here in Trip Advisor. That was very true, the staff were very pleasant and welcoming!
The rooms was very clean, the views amazing. The breakfast was abundant. They give you good advises for travelers also.

Rio Hotel - “ El Pez “
This place is located a click away from the “part you want to be in” of Máncora. The neighbourhood looks sketchy but is still pretty safe, even at night. To get to the party area you just get a tuktuk for 2 soles wich is super cheap! 24/7 there are hundreds of them everywhere. We stayed on the third floor wich was warm but ok. Only problem was the water pressure in our room... because of the old water pump there is most of the times zero to nothing coming out of the tap. There is comun shower on ground level wich you can use when ever you want. This is not a party hostel and there is not really a travelers atmosphere. The staff where friendly and answer all of your questions. Normal prices are a fair deal I guess, But wedefinitely paid too much for new years ( 3.5 times normal price ). Overall rating: average but not bad!

Nice enough
Is going to change ownership on 10 May 2015 so my review might not be relevant under new management. For us, it was nice enough.. Clean until our food crumbs brought in the ants- unsurprising in the heat. Air con would have been nicer than waiting for the fan to reach your bed.. A slight walk away from the main area and beach, would have been nicer to be a bit closer. It was a very pleasant stay though and can't complain properly.

Nice Hotel, reasonably priced
This hotel is located about 10 mins walk from where the bus stopped and let us off in the main street of Mancora. we took a tuk-tuk or motor three wheeled carrier to our hotel, it costs 3 sols or 1us dollar. check in was easy and well priced at 25us dollars for a double bed. The rooms are very spacious with only a fan in our room, no a/c. the bathroom is very small and crammed, maybe that was the style of build in Peru ,so taking nothing away from hotel it is very modern, but the bathroom was in our room so it was a bonus.No Kitchen for guests only bad point, friendly staff very helpful with questions and Carlos speaks very good english so it helped with our little spanish. friendly locals at the beach would love to come back to Mancora beach one day

Far from main area
If you're looking for a cheap, safe, mostly clean place to stay with a bit of a walk to the beach look no further. The room is basic, a desk and shelf made out of plywood, mostly clean, and locked at all hours. If arriving late use the buzzer by the front door, it's behind a cage!!!! Someone will let you in. The hotel is a 15 minute walk to all the other hotels, bars, restaurants, and the main beach where you can rent surfboards. If you don't mind the walk this place isn't bad. I felt safe walking there, however I didn't make the walk at night. Also, the bar area at the hotel was not open when I visited in October..... It's a great cheap option but if you have more money stay somewhere by the main beach area (where the water looks like it hits the highway on the map). Green eggs and ham is a great place for breakfast and lunch and is located on the beach by a few hotels that would be a great place to stay. The Loki hostel seemed to be a fun packed place too.
