Wonderful good value desert experience
Wonderful place. On edge of desert and easy to reach in own 2WD so no expensive pickup needed. Is scattered trees around this lodge that provide shade and lots of calling birds made it really present. Was small sand dunes around for short stroll to see sunset etc. Staff super friendly and attentive and the included food was great. Thankyou Faisal and team! One of our favourite stays in Oman vacation. Did our ride a camel experience here. Is also associated lodge further into full sand dunes for a totally immersed experience if you want.

Very dissapointing
The camp is nicely setup and the staff is friendly. That's where the positives end. The food (breakfast and dinner) was identical on both days and was extremely dissappointing. The chapati and chicken was ok but everything else was bland with small cans of soda and water. Our hot water boiler didn't work and have a few back and forths the staff gave us another room where everything was then ok. The owner didn't even respond although every room has a nice message asking anyone to contact him in case anything isn't ok. He doesn't seem to care for his camp that much. The camp itself is well setup and has a lot of potential if the owners would take hospitality a bit more seriously. This was the only dissapointing part of our Omani visit.

One night in the desert.
Ofcourse it is not the real desert but we slept in a real tent. With good beds and a seperate bathroom. We we're just in time to see the sun set. Diner was very good in a nice restaurant. Afterwards there was a campfire. We slept very good there.

a marvelous pearl in the desert
We stayed there 1 night for out trip though Oman half term kids holiday Oct 2019. Now this is by all means a pearl, with incredibly lovely staff, very authentic desert cam feeling and they organised for us the camel rides and dune bashing experience. The food was absolutely excellent, for the kids a bit spicy but that is in Oman everywhere the standard, The huts are fab, and we did not even need airco due to how they are built. The Camp is a lovely enclave with some nice ornamental decorations and and our host Ameet was incredible.

Worse place we stayed in Oman
Just returned from two weeks touring Oman. The Alreem desert camp was the worst (and in fact the only bad) place we stayed in. The camp is not really in the 'desert' at all - it is actually on the edge of a nearby village with a small farm (goats etc) immediately behind the camp, over a low dune, through the broken down barbed wire. The room we were in was fine as regards the bed /bathroom and decor (as in TripAdvisor photo) etc, but staff were totally uninterested. I counted 6 other people in total in the camp when were there. Dinner was bad - burnt / carbonised chicken smothered with chilli (and I like spicy food - but this was near inedible) cooked on a barbecue with an alternative of buffet spaghetti or buffet vegetables. Tiny tins of Fanta / Pepsi/ 7Up only to drink. Breakfast was even worse than dinner.... and consequently really bad.
Shame really, I suspect the owner does care about his camp, as he has polite written messages in the rooms, but is let down very badly by staff... Camp is possibly set up for tour groups. Unfortunately, there is no alternative accommodation within 30 miles in this part of Oman.
