Located in Al Khuwair, a neighborhood in Muscat, Platinum Hotel is near the airport. Mutrah Fort and Muscat Gate Museum are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex and Oman Children’s Museum. Nice behavior by staff and great area for night walks out.
But be aware of parking rules. I got 3 tickets cause I didn’t know that I should reserve by parking by sms

WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE, SERIOUS HYGIENE CONCERNS ,BUG FOUND ON BEDDING,SKIN REACTION&UNRESOLVED REFUND REQUEST+RUDESTAFF

I rarely write reviews like this, but I feel other travellers should know what happened to us during our stay at this hotel in Oman.
What should have been an enjoyable holiday became an extremely distressing experience.
From the beginning of our stay, we repeatedly complained about the bed, pillows, comforter and bedding. They were extremely uncomfortable and had an unpleasant smell. We asked staff for help and replacement bedding.
The replacement bedding did not solve the problem. We photographed significant yellow/brown staining and discolouration on the hotel's bedding.
More concerningly, we found and photographed a bug/insect on the bedding. During the same period, my wife developed multiple unexplained, intensely itchy and painful bite-like marks on her neck/body and arm. We have photographs of the insect, the bedding and the skin reaction.
I am stating exactly what we personally witnessed and documented: an insect was found on the hotel bedding, the bedding was visibly stained, and my wife developed bite-like skin irritation during our stay.**
We repeatedly sought assistance from the hotel. Our concerns were not resolved satisfactorily and a significant part of our holiday was spent dealing with the consequences rather than enjoying our trip.
The way our complaint was subsequently handled made the situation even worse.
We have retained our WhatsApp correspondence with the hotel. The hotel acknowledged our concerns in writing, apologised for the distress and stated that the matter had been forwarded to management for investigation.
Despite this, we still did not receive a satisfactory resolution to our request for a refund.
We also specifically asked the hotel to check/preserve CCTV from reception because it should help establish how often we approached staff during our stay. We have retained the dates and approximate times of these interactions.
We have preserved our evidence, including:
• Original photographs of the insect found on the bedding
• Photographs of the stained/discoloured bedding
• Photographs of my wife's skin reaction
• Video evidence
• WhatsApp correspondence with the hotel
• Details of our complaints to reception
• Booking and payment documentation
This is no longer simply a matter of whether we "liked" a hotel room. These are serious concerns about the accommodation we were provided and how our complaint was handled.
We are now preparing to submit our evidence formally to the relevant consumer-protection and tourism authorities in Oman and request an independent investigation
We are still giving the hotel an opportunity to resolve this properly by providing the full refund we requested and responding formally to our complaint.
If management disputes anything written in this review, we invite them to contact us directly and address the photographic evidence, our written correspondence and the relevant records.
Until this matter is properly resolved, based on our personal experience, I cannot recommend this hotel.
I strongly advise AGAINS THIS HORROR SHOW OF HOTEL FOR YOUR NEXT TRIP TO OMAN.

noisy children

I was staying at the hotel in room 314 from the 13th to the 15th January. For two nights, children were making noise in the corridor. On the night of the 15th, I went out and saw children running along the corridor and shouting at 2:30 a.m. Their mother’s bag was standing near room 312 or 311, I don’t remember exactly. I took the elevator to the reception. In the elevator, I met their mother. She started shouting at me because I wanted to inform the administration that the children were making noise. When the administrator and I went to the 3rd floor, she and her friend were shouting at me and tried to break into my room. Her friend took the children to room 317, but they were also noisy there at night.

Staff was nice. There are only about 8 parking spots, but I only fount this to be a problem on weekends, when you can use the rest of the lot free of charge. Check your room for bedbugs before settling in because I found some in my first room. Luckily, the staff quickly switched me to another room, which was perfectly fine.

The property had no parking for their guests and as a result we got charged a parking ticket when we were guests at the hotel and shouldn’t even have to worry about that, when talked to the manager he clearly refused to understand or empathize instead claimed it’s our problem and not theirs.
