Cabin with an ocean view

I stayed at the Miro cabin in February, which was very nice with a great view of the ocean. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and fun to chat with. This room has a bath tub on the porch overlooking the ocean, which was a really nice feature. I would definitely rent the Miro cabin again!

Well situated for pancake Rocks.

Basic cottage on main road with all self contained facilities except microwave!
Our chalet faced the main road so traffic noise early in morning if windows open.
Well situated for Pancake Rocks.
Need to stock up before you arrive in either Westport or Greymouth.

Perfect location in Punakaiki

Perfect location in Punakaiki. We stayed in an upper unit which provided a nice view of the ocean. Large suite with separate bedroom and great room. Our only wish would be for AC to help keep it cool as the sun is overhead. Fans were provided. It is a beautiful place to enjoy a glass of wine on the deck listening to sound of waves crashing onto the beach just across the road.

Lovely stay with a view and great location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Rimu cottage. The cottage itself is quite rustic but the views and privacy were terrific. Also, it was great to be able to do some laundry. The cottage is very convenient for visiting the Pancake Rocks. Make sure you bring some basic provisions. Note: This is the only accommodation we have found in NZ that has not had milk or a bottle of water in the fridge which would be nice given you can’t buy anything around the area. Also, the cutlery (just 2 knives and forks and a couple of spoons, bread knife and one other)and dinnerware was minimal - 2 large plates and only one small one. All that was minor but a few more items would make the guest feel like more at home and a better value. All in all a great stay.

The hut is not reccomended

Wooden shack by the road called 'Paparoa Hut'
No views.... blocked by window screen.... and purpose built corrugated screen between dwelling and road.
Noise from road trafic in bedroom very irritating. Road is 12m away from bedroom.
Very disappointed, as was led to believe it had sea views. The only view from the outside seat by the door is that of the gravel drive way and the next door dwelling. Can't wait to leave!
Shabby inside, I guess thats why the call it a hut.
On the flip side, close to the tourist spots in the area.

Hi GarryB - we do not in any way advertise the hut with sea views, we clearly say it is at road level and a basic hut (hence the rate) We are sorry the hut disappointed your expectations.
