Relaxation

A beautiful stay overlooking Akaroa Harbour
We were looking for somewhere in Akaroa that was bright, full of natural light and had beautiful views overlooking the water — and this place ticked every box. There was some construction to the left, but we were far enough around that it didn’t affect us, and as we stayed over the weekend, it wasn’t an issue at all.
The location and views were exactly what we had hoped for, making it such a lovely and relaxing place to stay. Everything felt welcoming and comfortable, and the staff were exceptionally pleasant, friendly and helpful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere peaceful, light-filled and with gorgeous water views in Akaroa. We would definitely stay here again!

Average

Check in was not great was pouring with rain and no one was in office when came to check in just past 2pm. Rang number on door multiple times and no one answered so stood in rain for around 10 minutes until she came out. Room was tired with an old bed that sunk to the floor when lay on. Shower was old and door swung in not out which made it hard to get into. Kettle in kitchen had nowhere to plug into?

View the redeeming feature of a tired studio apartment

View outstanding, no table on the balcony. Very very basic studio but comfortable. Run down and tired. If renovated it’d be amazing.
Cleaning was average with the bed made poorly and a belt left on the floor between bed and bedside table.
Please be aware that the Wharf Apartments are over a restaurant so whilst ok in winter, during summer I can only imagine it would be very noisy. Budget priced accommodation and my expectations were it would have been slightly better.
Location 10/10 for the view
Parking - excellent
Shower - hot with good pressure
Bed - too soft but still comfy and warm

Exceptional Stay in the Heart of It All

We had a fantastic stay! The location is perfect—just a short walk to the coast, with restaurants, cafés, and bars all within 20 steps of the accommodation. Everything you need is right at your doorstep.
The place itself is spacious, making it ideal for families or groups of friends. It was spotlessly clean, and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals comfortably.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back in the future with our family and friends. Highly recommended!

Tidy 2 bedroom, 2 storey house

I was a little worried about the room but when we got there it was a tidy 2 storey home with the bedrooms on the ground floor which is great for luggage. There was also a little toilet upstairs so we didn't have a traipse up & down the stairs. It was located 3 minutes walk to the restaurants & wharf & a fish & chips shop the other way. Great holiday home.
