Rosi hotel is very much worth it for what you pay there. Cheap, friendly, very helpful staff and great food. Great location especially for hikers.Don't miss out for 2017 if you enjoy nature and food.
Thankfully the road that connects with Albania is all done.

Modest and inexpensive hotel in Gusinje

We stayed one night. This is rather simple modest, budget hotel on the entrance road to Gusinje, before the bridge.
Rooms are clean, heating and hot water ok. Very affordable price.
There is a good restaurant in the building, tasty, inexpensive food. Very friendly and helpful staff and very nice owner, too. Very good rakija!!
On the ground floor - a grocery store.
If you are planning to cross the border into Albania and are looking for accommodation - this hotel is the best in the area.

Nice people and food but very outdated

We stayed 2 nights and felt welcome by the friendly owners but didn't like the room much, but of course you cannot expect very much with such a low priced hotel. The outdated room was small with old furniture, not clean, had no functioning curtain or ventilation and the wifi didn't work in the room (but did in restaurant). The bathroom was clean though with a nice shower, but had a leak in the shower-basin resulting in a partly wet-floor.
The food in the resaturant was good and very tastefull.

Thank you Hotel Rosi

We stayed at Hotel Rosi for the first night of our Montenegro-Albania walking trip. We stayed in a four-bed room. The accommodation was simple but clean and comfortable and the family management team were completely welcoming and hospitable.
We ate in the restaurant, which was fine. We had bee soup (!) followed by local trout with salad. All good.
In conversation, we discovered that the owner is genuinely enthusiastic to be part of sustainable, eco-friendly tourist development and has a personal interest in the little known archaeological history of this area, which apparently dates back at least 3000 years.
The hotel arranged a very early taxi for us to the Ropojana valley trailhead for the start of our walk to Theth (fare 12 euro).
By the by:
Shortly after our arrival in Gusinje, we were sorry to witness a small (feral?) dog get run over by a car outside the hotel but it was good to see that the owner and his family rushed out to help the poor animal, whose leg was hurt, and telephoned for a vet to visit the following day. Well done them.
So, all in all a completely good first experience of Montenegro.

Friendly and welcoming

We stayed at Hotel Rosi for two nights and were made really welcome by one of the owner's sons, Gurni. Our reason for going to Guisinje was to do a hike in the Ropojana Valley which proved to be an amazing experience and certainly to be recommended to anyone who visits this part of Montenegro.
All I would say to anyone who criticizes the hotel is that you need to adapt to the place you visit and not have the same expectations as you would in other more frequented parts of Europe. Also it costs only 30 euros for bed and breakfast for two people!
We enjoyed our stay and wish this hardworking and enterprising family good luck.
