Great 1 night stay in town

We had a great time visiting Valladolid and we enjoyed our stay at casa Fernery. Wonderful host, great location, clean room and bed, everything you need, hosts are super friendly and happy to help with anything!

Misrepresented listing and dishonest hosts

Disappointed to discover after booking (on a different platform) that the stated PRIVATE kitchenette was in fact a shared kitchen for four rooms. ApI asked the hosts and booking.com to cancel the booking but was ignored by both. On the morning of our arrival, I noticed that our particular room (touted as the ‘last one available), was again available on booking.com. No communication.
On arrival, the owners attempted to give us a small, dark downstairs room, claiming that someone else had booked the deluxe room with the terrace therefore I couldn’t have booked it. I showed the screen shots of the more expensive deluxe room that I’d booked which also clearly stated ‘Private kitchenette’ and stood my ground using my limited Spanish. Eventually we were taken upstairs to the larger room with the terrace. It had a noisy fridge but not even a coffee pot by way of kitchen amenity.
The owners insisted on payment by cash and, of course, they could provide the currency exchange. They then advised booking.com that we were ‘no shows’ and despite my providing evidence of our stay to the latter, our booking remains ‘cancelled’ meaning I can’t leave feedback to warn other travellers.
Booking.com should hold hosts to account with respect to their stated amenities. We stuck it out for the two days, a very uncomfortable atmosphere as the owners are sitting in an adjacent room watching everything - we didn’t use the communal kitchen except for making coffee in the morning.
The location is good. The bed was comfortable but no blankets were provided. We asked for one and got another sheet. Shower good. Terrace pleasant but needs cleaning. Can’t recommend. It’s basically a youth hostel for older travellers.

Very welcoming hosts

Tidy room close to the city centre. Our hosts were very nice and welcoming. The bed is huge and so is the TV. There also is a living room downstairs that you can use which has an excellent couch in it. There is a fridge and drinkable water available as well. Recommended!

Bon rapport qualité-prix.

A aimé · Ce grand logement est constitué de plusieurs chambres avec des sanitaires privés. Nous avons bénéficié d’une grande cuisine commune, bien équipée ainsi que d’espaces communs : salon, terrasse. L’hébergement est propre et confortable. Quant aux propriétaires, ils sont très sympathiques. Certes le quartier n’est pas le plus joli de la ville mais il est proche de son centre à pied. En outre, il est à côté du marché et du cenote Zaci. Afin d’être très au calme, demandez une chambre qui donne sur la cour et non pas sur la rue. A 25 euros la nuitée pour 2, je considère que cet hébergement offre un excellent rapport qualité-prix pour celles et ceux qui recherchent un hébergement propre, confortable et bénéficiant d’une cuisine.
