Perfection on Isla Mujeres

Stayed at Hotel Secreto recently for 4 nights, and we are so glad we picked this hotel. After visiting the island multiple times over the last 4 years we have finally found our home here and the place to which we will always return. It’s a small boutique hotel so it never feels crowded and the service is excellent. The beach is a secret little cove a few minutes walk from the hustle & crowds of Playa Norte, it really feels like you have your own private beach to relax on. The pool is a good size and a nice cool temperature as it’s shaded well. Plenty of sun loungers and an attentive barman to make you your favorite cocktail. We had a room on the top floor overlooking the ocean. Comfortable bed, seating area, powerful hot shower (which is often hard to find on the island) and a large balcony with a bed to chill out on. Finally, the rooftop bar is a joy. The perfect place to watch the sunset, a great drinks menu, and the food has been incredible. The bruschetta blew our minds so much we had to order another. And the octopus dish was tender and cooked to perfection. Special thanks to Salvador who was a friendly waiter and who we looked forward to seeing each night.

Nice but not very convenient

Well located hotel, small but attractive room, nice pool and enough sun loungers.
On the other hand, no breakfast and not very nice for late checkouts: we booked 3 rooms in total and asked for a late checkout at 2 or 3pm for just one room. The hotel only offered us a checkout at 1pm or payment for an extra night ... even though the hotel wasn't full ... not very friendly . Also not really a shower or changing room to change ...
