A group of friends who come back delighted with this memorable stay
The photos are a reflection of this magnificent house. We were a group of friends of 8 couples and a single. We were received by Véronique , the lovely hostess-manager of this superb site. Extremely kind and attentive to ensure a very high quality stay.
Congratulations to the whole team and especially Lamia and Jo who prepared us delicious breakfasts and exceptional dinners with wonderful flavors, oriental and others.
It was a great first for all of us.....we all leave with wonderful and delicious memories

A superb discovery
We stayed 3 nights, Didier and Momo did everything to make us feel at home. Not to mention the good advice to have a drink, eat or visit around!
I highly recommend!

Very kind owners
The location requires your own transport because it is lost in the middle of nowhere. The owners are very kind and helpful, the rooms are spacious, the bathroom is large but without a door separating it from the room. Good wifi, breakfast only sweet and with limited variety, cash only. A few minutes walk away there is a restaurant where you can eat outdoors. In conclusion, not an exceptional solution in winter.

a great place where relaxation awaits
Great! We had a very good stay at Villa Daba. Very welcoming house, superb swimming pool, delicious breakfast with fresh fruit juices, fresh eggs, pancakes and Bernadette's cakes. Thanks to Didier for his valuable advice for visiting the surroundings of Essaouira.
Thanks also to Momo for her kindness.
We will come back with pleasure! A very good address, in short, a great place where relaxation is guaranteed.

A peaceful haven in Africa - Didier the perfect host!
We arrived late, past 22:30, but the owners Bernadette and Didier kindly stayed up waiting for us.
They are a French couple but have lived in Africa for over 30 years. Bernadette speaks decent English, but Didier sticks to French only. He is a former fishery advisor and knows everything about seafood. We ate the hotel's fish dinner one night and it was yummy.
Note that the meals are served "table d'hôte" style, meaning that you all sit around a big table and there might be other guest sharing the table. The hosts make an effort to match the guests, so English-speaking are seated together to facilitate conversation.
Our breakfast waiter Mohammed was really friendly, professional and service minded. Breakfast was nice: croissants, assorted french pastries, yogurt, home made jams and homemade bread.
The outdoor pool was heated even in the middle of the Moroccan "winter" and in the afternoons it was pleasant enough to take a dip. The pool is covered by a tarpaulin, but Didier opened the pool whenever our kids wanted to swim.
The hosts had a personal touch, always checked that we were fine, offering advice on where to buy souvenirs in the souk, how to tell good argan oil from bad, what shellfish to avoid at the fish market etc. You can ask them about anything!
Didier recommended a restaurant, La Grotte at Sidi Kaouki, which served abalone. Great price, great view overlooking the ocean - go there for lunch.
The rooms were clean, bathroom was modern and lavish, hot water was abundant (which you can't take for granted in Africa).
The floor was a bit cold - bring your slippers in the winter! Most beds (not the kids though) are fitted with electric mattress heaters, and there are heating fans in each room. Beware if you are running the fans and heaters too long, the fuse will get switched off, and you must switch it back on in the fusebox.
There is a stable with some hens, ducks and two donkeys, which our kids LOVED.
As previous reviews mention, there is a 2 km dirt road to reach the tarred main road. It's a very slow and bumpy ride, which is the only reason I can't give five stars for location.
Note that the payment is cash only. The ATM's in Essaouira tend to run empty, so make sure you prepare and bring cash. The nearest ATM is at the Aswak Assalam supermarket in Ghazoua.
A word of warning to families with young children. Didier and Bernadette has decorated the breakfast rooms with exclusive and fragile curios, chinaware and glass souvenirs. Please keep an eye on your little ones so they don't break anything!
