The best experience in Maldives
I stayed in Dhonveli Inn for a week over Christmas with my friend and that was the best decision of our Maldives trip!
While organising the holiday from home we saw this hotel but didn't booked it cause in internet is impossible to find information about how to get there so we went to Maafushi island instead. Once there we realised how touristic it is and contact Dhonveli Inn. They provide us all the information we need and it was actually easily reachable with a fast ferry boat from Male(journey is 3hours approximately and price is only 35$ of you book through the hotel).
Once arrived we were welcomed at the pier and as soon as we reached the hotel offered a beautiful welcome drink, what a nice touch!
The owner himself, Nisham, took us for a walk around the island and showed ua all the local spots, including a stop over where the village fishermen clean the catch, throwing the leftover in the sea for the bigger fish to come and feed. We could see rays like a meter away from us and sharks!!! That was ridiculously magical! On the top of it they let us choose the fishes we like better and cooked them Maldivian style for our dinner!
The following days they organised many activities for us: we went spear fishing octopus and line fishing tuna and more, went exploring several island of the atoll. Visited some sandbank where it was only us watching the sunset. We also got so lucky to be there on glowing plankton season and we went for night fishing to enjoy the magical shining ocean. But the true highlight was dolphins spotting!
And all of these with prices way more affordable than resort.
About our room: it was just perfect! Nice comfortable beds and all the comforts you need: hot shower, wardrobe, in-room coffee facilities and even a television with many movies already loaded in! The hote features also a garden bar and restaurant where the lovely Umar can organise your meals...I'm Italian and he cooked some beautiful pizza for me on Christmas day!
What else can I say? If you want to enjoy the real Maldivian experience choose Dhonveli Inn in Bandidhoo, you won't regret it, I promise you!
