Take the suite !

We spent one night , arriving under a thunderstorm . We took the room K4, which is not the cheapest but every euro worth : comfortable, extravagant , comfy bed, nice big warm water but above all the sensation to feel like an explorer in the past. Lots of wood statues, paintings, extravagant lamps and decor. Not meticulously clean but not moldy like many rooms in tropical settings . Night was quiet thanks to the mosquito net . The garden is beautiful and the staff is welcoming . We ate a good dinner and one of the best breakfast since weeks . I didn’t line the city and the beach : trash everywhere, in many spots the beach is a real damp and in the evening the staff asked us to close windows and shutters because of safety. It appears that Manakara has a lot of dibs. Let s say I wouldn’t spend my holiday there, but sleeping one night on the way to Toulear was a blessing

Could be excellent but

Lack of maintenance hotel with renovation to plan huge abandoned pool. Too bad because huge potential. Very nice staff and very decent food

Hotel structure not up to standard

Delicious meals. Extra cocktails.
Kindness of the Malagasy.
But the hotel structure is not up to standard: almost no water for 2 days and the same for electricity cut every day between 5am and 8am and every evening from 6pm. We had to get home at 3:00 so we could take a hot shower with a trickle of water.
The rooms are very dark.
The bathroom is comfortable.
So I'm not sure the stage in MANAKARA is worth it

Avoid parthenay hotel at All Costs - Dangerous and Unsafe

Our stay at this hotel turned into an absolute nightmare due to a terrifying incident that occurred during our second night. While we were sleeping, someone broke into our room and stole everything - our luggage, phone, passport,money, and even our clothes. The feeling of vulnerability and fear that ensued is indescribable.
What's even more alarming is the lack of accountability from the hotel management. Instead of taking responsibility, they feigned ignorance and refused to acknowledge the severity of the situation. It's evident that the staff and security guards are either complicit or negligent, as there's no way such a breach could occur without internal involvement.
This experience has left us deeply traumatized and with a stark warning for fellow travelers: avoid parthenay hotel at all costs. It's not just a matter of inconvenience; it's a matter of safety. The blatant disregard for guest security makes this establishment a hazardous choice. Don't put yourself at risk - steer clear of this dangerous place.

With my eyes closed, I will go back!

Cozy bungalows by the sea or very well maintained garden side.
Restaurants with a beautiful terrace facing the sea presenting a varied menu.
Very friendly boss and close to customers.
Impeccable service and excellent meal.
